She started her career as an Executive Officer in the banking industry in 1985 with United Asian Bank Berhad. With the merger of the banks in the early 90s, she was promoted as Branch Manager at Bank of Commerce in 1993. She then moved on to Hong Leong Bank in 1995 and subsequently joined EON Bank in 2002. As Branch Manager in these banks, she oversaw the administration and operations of the branches besides ensuring the growth and profitability.
In 2004, she joined Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad as part of the senior management team, leading and managing branches in the Northern States of Malaysia. As the Regional Manager, she is responsible for building business strategies, risk management, setting goals and performance objectives for the region besides managing stakeholder relations and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
