Puan Elakumari Kantilal was actively involved in the establishment of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) whilst in the Ministry of Finance. She was in Khazanah since its inception in 1994 moving from the position of Senior Manager to Director in Investment Division from 2004 until 2017.
She started her career in the government sector in 1981 and held various positions within the sector namely in the Accountant Generals Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Finance. She was involved in the monitoring and restructuring of companies, including debts of non-performing companies held by Ministry of Finance (Incorporated).
She also sits on the Board of Danajamin Nasional Berhad.
