Working Experience
Between 1982 and 1985, he worked for IBM World Trade Corporation in Malaysia as a Systems Engineer. While pursuing his Masters degree, he joined Salomon Brothers, Inc., in New York as a summer associate in the futures and options trading and bond market research departments. Upon completion of his Masters programme in 1987, he rejoined Salomon Brothers Inc. as an associate in the Proprietary Strategies Department, developing and testing analytical tools and trading strategies. In 1989, he was seconded to the Asia Pacific Investment Banking Department of Salomon Brothers Hong Kong Ltd., where he was involved in financing and valuation analysis of acquisition targets, privatisation and capital market proposals and providing investment banking account coverage for South East Asia.
