Mr Lim Kuan Yew holds an honours degree in law and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1998.
He had held positions in organisations from various industries which include:
1. The ex managing partner of a law firm specializing in construction disputes, banking, public-private privatizations projects, commercial disputes and building technology laws where he had advised various type of entities ranging from public listed companies, governmental organisations to SMEs.
2. A member of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Center for Arbitrations panel of Adjudicators which has been entrusted with the power to adjudicate statutory disputes under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012.
3. An ex panel legal advisor for the MBIPV Project, a national initiative between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the previous Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications and Multimedia (now known as KeTTHA) to devise national strategies and policies to promote the use of building integrated solar panels in Malaysia.
4. The council member of the Malaysian Association of Money Services Business (MAMSB).
5. The chairmen of the MAMSBs Legal Committee and Disciplinary Committee.
6. The panel member of the Standard Technical Evaluation Committee of national occupational skills standard for the Department of Skills Development, Ministry Of Human Resources.
7. The director of a corporation which is an approved issuer a designated payment instrument under the Financial Services Act 2013 and the provision of remittance and currency exchange services under Money Services Business Act 2011.
