Working Experience
Upon graduation in 1968, Encik Ariffin Bin Khalid held the position of L.P.Gas Engineer in Shell Malaysia Trading and progressed in other positions such as Construction and Maintenance Engineer, Depot Manager, Distribution Operations Manager ( Sabah and Sarawak ), Lubricant Marketing Manager, Quality Manager and General Manager ( Distribution Operations). He was promoted to serve in Shell Companies in Malaysia in 1994 as Team Member ( Re-Engineering project ), Adviser ( Business Improvement ) and Chief Adviser of Corporate Affairs, until his retirement at the end of 1999. He was also a Fellow of the Institute of the Petroleum ( United Kingdom ) from 1969 to 2000. After his retirement from Shell, he work as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Rotary- MEC and as an Environmental and Oil and Gas Consultant. From 1990 until the present, Encik Ariffin has served as Chairman of the National Industrial Standardisation Committee 'Y' ( Quality Management & Quality Assurance-ISO 9000 ). In this capacity, he has led Malaysian delegations to ISO conferences in USA, Canada, Brazil, UK, France, Australia and Japan. in 2004, he was a member of the Organising Committee and Delegation Leader to the 22nd ISO/TC 176 Annual Conference, which was held in Kuala Lumpur. He also holds the position of Hon. Treasurer, International Erosion Control Association ( Malaysian Chapter ) since 2001. Encik Ariffin was the General Manager of one of the Company's subsidiaries, Asia Tank Containers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. from 2005 to 2009. He was appointed as Executive Director of the Company in February 2005 and was subsequently redesignated to Non-Independent Non-Executive Director in August of 2009 till his resignation in August of 2012.
