Ramachelvam said they would rely on a “defence of fair comment, justification and qualified privilege” if the suit goes to court.

what kind of defence is this?

I am not following this quote from EVO118 -

EVO118 Only need another 2,400,000 for FELDA to be holding 80% . Forget about the public shareholding spread. Who is in charge? Is Bursa the regulator or a puppet for FELDA because of someone else pulling some strings? If I am not mistaken it is illegal to keep accumulating towards 80% without making a GO. I suppose rules are meant to be broken if you can get way with it.""

I thought the GO is at 90% ? Felda + PAC now stands at roughly 83% +/-...

2022-02-11 23:13 | Report Abuse

i felda is slowly trying to collect up to 90% then stock price would go beyond $2…i wonder who are the silly ones disposing at this price..

Why isn't Bursa doing anything!

Does anyone know exactly how much FELDA needs to take it private? Some articlrs says 90% and other says 95%. Which is corrrect?

With taitaimau's comment, is it corrext to say FELDA's current shareholding position is 87+% ?

Thanks EVO118..clear to me now.

2021-12-01 16:53 | Report Abuse

@EVO110, thank you.

I was under the impression that current 13% shareholding spread is 3% away to 90% Take-over offer. But if that is notntrue, then it is ok... I am not worried.

Does anyone knows what this statement means?

As at the date of this announcement, the Company's public shareholding spread based on the Company's Record of Depositors as at 25 November 2021 is 13.19%.

@oskchoon, i think your foresight could be right and if i read deeper, the chairman will be on standby to buy in tomorrow morning, say $1mil too... Look at the outstanding closing volume -1.04mil, vs 1.9m this afteenoon..

Lets hope this happens and LD will be arrested tomorrow.. A good start to stabilize this counter and bring in some confidence.

Surprise to see a public listed company with so poor investor relations.

just saw an advert of Dyson Black Friday sale. but there were only 2 comments and 6 likes!

i hope it stays that way. i am pretty sure none here who had lost plenty would even bother to see the ad, let alone buying anything Dyson now!

2021-11-26 23:07 | Report Abuse

so its true, workers shortage is an industry wide issue and ATA was the first to report that. what difference does it make if SK or VS receives transfer orders from Dyson - they would die standing trying to fulfill Dyson’s orders and will exploit their labor even more..

2021-11-26 21:48 | Report Abuse

Malaysia's Human Resources Minister M Saravanan said the government wanted to hear the reasons from both parties.

Dyson didn't want to keep the contract due to a worker shortage. There are two different stories, according to Saravanan, who said he was waiting to hear Dyson's side of the matter.

Above all, the MY govt and MMA should set the record straight with this silly Andy Hall person, doing non-solicited private investigation with little to no proof. If his claim was so right, tell all and name all..
In ATA's case, he may had just bite more than he could chew..and is now looking at the risk of over 1000 workers local and foreign loosing jobs. So he is putting blame on Dyson and demand them to own up. Why didnt he mention this in this report and back paddle now? Perhaps we all should report him to US CBP for illicot report and ask thst he be investigated so to give him a taste of his own medicine. Bummer!!

2021-11-26 13:02 | Report Abuse

I suspect this is strategy by Dyson to reset all contracts to re-nego for better terms. Come that time, things will be back to normal.

The govt announced the $9.9 bil sukuk bond will be used to restructure the $8.3bil felda settler’s loan and balance to finance FgV privatization.

Does any one know if the point fgv privatization means acquiring the remaining 19% shares outstanding today? if yes, it looks like next offer price could be $2.30 at min.

just sharing a thought here..

Felda + KPF (Koperasi Permodalan Felda) = 78.25 + 2.87 = 81.12% as of today. In case some of you asking why Felda owenership is still below 81% as reported in i3.

Meantime, see Cycle & Carriage failed privitization story.. Very interesting...

2021-06-15 11:24 | Report Abuse

@Hidup_PN this brings to my question about FGV public spread. They are already in violation not meeting Bursa's min spread requirement and yet added another 4.1mil shares further reducing it... Not sure what is going on..

Sorry for the typo errors... Replying from mobile with auto correction turned on.

2021-06-15 09:37 | Report Abuse

Don't bother asking here. You will probably get daunting reply.

Between shareholder to shareholder(i assume you are), below is what I think :

FGV does not adopted Reverse Book Building method, and I guess it would be up to Maybank2u IB to determine the 'unfair offer price'. Don't know how it's calculated - if it's by NTA and future profits, I would think price may be slightly higher due to acquisition of recent MsM assets.

2021-06-14 17:07 | Report Abuse

My question is rather - given FGV is below the 25% statutory public spread requirement, buying more doesn't it amount to a violation.

Calvin - FGV report says this - "CPO price will remain volatile and expected to hovering within the range of RM3,700 – RM4,200 in 3Q FY2021"...CPO price is expected to remain high this year...

2021-05-30 22:02 | Report Abuse

I encourage you all to read the Quarterly Q1'21 and Q4'20 Result Briefing Pg 9 and Pg 8 respectively and deduce your analysis.

From what I see, FGV has always been paying out LLA in the past, with the exception of Q4'20, where a $98m LLA fair value gain was recorded. Therefore deducing Q1'21 result being bad, I don't see so, especially if you compared how FGV fared in Q1 of past years.

Now, if you go to Pg 8 of Q4'20 of the same report, see the 2016 quarterly trend and you will notice these:

1. EBIT increase in tandem to CPO price movement.
2. Q4 LLA turned net gain, just like what happened in Q4'20.
3. Q4 impairment the highest, just like what happened in Q4'20.

in summary, if CPO prices in the coming quarters will remain high, the trend you see in 2016 will repeat. I am not sure what was the dividend paid in that year, if you know, multiply that by 2 as CPO price this year, is almost doubled to that of 2016.

See Pg23 of Q1'21 result - it wrote this :

"CPO price will remain volatile and expected to hovering
within the range of RM3,700 – RM4,200 in 3Q FY2021."

I think by historical trend, it seemed Q1 is always a lousy quarter for FGV business.

FGV Holdings' first quarter net loss shrank to 35.42 million
Chinapress Fri, May 28, 2021 07:10 pm-36 minutes ago

(Kuala Lumpur, 28th) FGV Holdings (FGV, 5222, main board planting stock) as of the first quarter of the end of March this year, the net loss has shrunk to 35.421,000 ringgit, compared with a net loss of 142.35 million ringgit in the same period last year; turnover increased year-on-year 22% to RM3.393.49 million.

The company pointed out in a statement that operating income increased to RM186 million in the first quarter, mainly due to the increase in the profitability of palm oil products and the improvement in the performance of the sugar business.

Azman Ahmad, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Logistics and Support Business Department of FGV Holdings, pointed out that the company expects crude palm oil prices to remain high, but due to the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the shortage of manpower, the operating environment of the plantation business is still being challenged.

He is also optimistic about the transformation plan and sustainable growth of the sugar business.

"Due to the movement control order, domestic sugar consumption is expected to remain stable. At the same time, our logistics business will maintain a strategy to improve sales, profit margins and operational efficiency."

Looks like is a good news. Felda is addressing the public shareholding spread, after taking dividend.

2021-03-16 16:39 | Report Abuse

I understand that as a public listed company, Felda now has to address the 25% public spread which had shrunk during the acquisition spree. So won't be surprise Felda would be selling some of their lots today and made money..but if privitization is still in the carda, they may come back with a new proposal.
