The main reason to sell off AAC is to unlock the REAL value of AirAsia.

Currently AA market cap sitting at 10bil, it would be around 6bil after selling off AAC which worth at least 4bil ringgit.

Of course without AAC, there will be no leasing income from subsidiary and instead AA has to pay rental for their planes. However, gearing ratio and cash on hand would greatly improve, finance costs also reduced like hell.

Now zoom to post-AAC, where to find a 6bil company generating 1bil-1.5bil CASH with 2 digit growth rate annually and low gearing. What PE should AA trade at after sale of AAC? I think definitely not PE5 or 6 or 7.
