KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia X Bhd registered a net profit of RM328 million for the first quarter ended March 31 2023.
The airline said its revenue was reported at RM548.8 million, marking a significant recovery of close to 50 per cent of the performance achieved in 2019.
The improved metrics are even more favourable as only two more additional aircraft were activated during the quarter, with another six aircraft in line to commence operations as of May 2023.

The airline had previously reduced its fleet size to nine aircraft from 24 over the course of its operational hibernation amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Between March 2022 and May 2023, AAX has added eight aircraft to its fleet, bringing its total fleet size to 17 aircraft, with 11 fully activated and operational to-date. It said it is working towards having more aircraft fully activated and operational by the end of the year.

It is expected that AAX’s performance and trade activity will improve due to the reopening of China on March 15, 2023, along with the airline’s announcement on the same day that it has launched three new routes to southern Chinese cities — Quanzhou, Guilin and Chengdu — being part of the network of 15 routes, with over 129 weekly flights between China and Malaysia.
“Our newest route to Tianfu serves as the foundation for more AirAsia X flights to China in the near future, which will significantly boost our North Asian network.
“As China is rapidly bouncing back, we expect to launch even more flights to and from the country, as well as to increase the frequency on the most popular and profitable routes within our network in the short to medium term,” said AAX Malaysia chief executive officer Benyamin Ismail.

Capital A regularisaton plan_summary by kenanga investment
The key takeaways from the analysts briefing yesterday are as follows:
1. The group plans to announce the details of its PN17 regularisation plan by mid-April 2023 with completion expected by end-3Q 2023. We gathered that the group plans to divest its aviation group to AirAsia X in exchange of shares for subsequent distribution to its shareholders.
can sifu here, help to explain, what will happens to AAX shares, if the divestment really takes place? CapitalA shares UP? AAX waterfall?

Jangan short-term sangat, people. Nanti kita kesal hari kemudian.

https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/bahasa/tempatan/2022/05/30/sapura-energy-jual-kapal-bernilai-rm312-juta/

https://www.forbes.com/sites/daneberhart/2022/05/04/oil-services-industry-entering-new-boom-time-thanks-to-tight-market/?sh=95c22c01240e
