He noted that 18,416 returnees have completed their quarantines; however, 10% of them did not undergo COVID-19 screening on the 13th day.
Noor Hisham also pointed out that amid an uptrend in people going outside and downloading the MySejahtera app, the number of check-ins at various commercial premises have reduced, suggesting that more people are ignoring the SOP.
“Owners of these premises and the general public are reminded to continue observing the SOP that has been set to ensure that we can break the chain of COVID-19 infections in the community,” he said.

“The latest data from the MySejahtera application showed that 28.8% of individuals who were placed under HSO did not use the Home Assessment Tool function,” he said, adding that the function was part of the mandatory daily self-evaluation programme throughout their self-quarantine.
So far, 31,674 persons under surveillance who returned from abroad had to quarantine themselves for 14 days under the HSO.

The recovery rate is currently 97% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
Noor Hisham also expressed concern that the public are flouting the rules and standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the Government to curb COVID-19 infections, which have started to trend in the double digits since hitting a record low of only one case three weeks ago.
He referred to photos that have gone viral on social media of individuals wearing pink wrist tags denoting that they were under the Home Surveillance Order (HSO) but were out in crowded places

Meanwhile for cases involving Malaysians, all four cases were found in Sarawak — one from the Stutong cluster, one from the Sentosa cluster, one from the Kuching engineering cluster while another case is still under investigation as the patient did not have any symptoms and has been admitted to Sarawak General Hospital.
Five patients are currently being treated in the intensive care unit, with two of them needing respiratory assistance.
The Ministry also reported eight new recoveries; a total of 8,574 patients have recovered and discharged so far.
Fortunately, no new death was reported and the death toll remains at 123.

“The three imported cases were from [those who returned from] Singapore with one case, India and the Philippines,” said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a briefing today.
Meanwhile, the remaining cases were local transmissions involving two foreigners and four Malaysians.
The two cases involving non-Malaysians were detected in Sabah and Kelantan. In Sabah, an inmate who was screened for the coronavirus prior to being released was found to be infected, while in Kelantan, an illegal immigrant had also tested positive just before a group of immigrants was transferred to a detention centre.

if the can choose when to apply the law and when bot to apply the law, how can they avoid the issue on 'selective prosecution'? arent that open up Pandora box on law is not fairly apply and certain ppl are view as immune to that law? arent everyone is equal in front of the Law?

"Usually, we are not that strict," he added when asked if the law applied to ordinary citizens who might upload their videos.
But the law is there in the books and as long as it is there it can still be used/applied. Hope he can give a better answer. I have come to a point that trust is a double-edged sword and ambiguity can mean anything. It is all well and good until what goes around comes around but who cares. Just live for the moment.

The best solution is don't teach English anymore. Just teach all subjects in BM. There should be no more science and maths from primary to end of secondary. Then we will be able to see real improvement.

Our students struggle to learn math and science in english and we give up on them? Way to go......... good government decision. What about those who cannot learn other subjects as well? The problem will go away by itself??? This is helping the Malaysian??

People change. For the better. This person changed for the bad. Honour for the family? Nope. Shameful really. He & Family will go down in history as the most controversial Speaker whom failed to preside his 1st day seatings in full. Shameful.

Azhar Azizan 'Art' Harun had built for himself a reputation from his writings. We all thought that he would do as he preached.
Agreeing to take on the position of House speaker from Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof was itself puzzling. Ariff was exceptional as the speaker. Professional and even-handed.
Why did Azhar step down as Election Commission (EC) chairperson? We all assumed that he was doing an exemplary job as EC chairperson. What greater good was being served by accepting the speaker's position?
Mahathir has set the tone - DAP bad as being a Chinese party, PKR bad as not being a Malay party. And the necessity for a unity party that was Malay dominant with nominal Chinese and Indian participation.
So that is now the operating mode. Mahathir’s former colleague Wan Saiful Wan Jan, for all his previous preaching, has Veered to the other side. One can only hope that Azhar stays the course set by his own articulated standards.
As for the EC, we can hope that deputy chairperson Azmi Sharom will be confirmed as EC chief.
Will ambition trump principle every time? Wherein are the visionary statesmen that will lead us out of this darkness?
For many of us, the issues that bedevil us have never been about race or religion. It is about democracy and our Constitution, it is about the economy. It is about the rule of law. It is about justice.
It is about fairness to all. It is about the elimination of poverty and it is about the fair distribution of wealth and opportunities to all. It was never about one race dominating the rest.
We cannot each go our separate ways. That will be a recipe for disaster.

Never let them loiter for long, else they will claim as theirs if no protests are made. Greedy for them to claim every border they have.
Historical rights? Based on which era? If Kublai Khan, then thy shld claim part of Europe too. Why not doin that. China is bullying the weaker nations like SEA Countries. Good for India to fight them off.

For flacks sake. The poor are poor wherever they exist
The question to be addressed is : Why are they poor?
The answer to that question is the same wherever poverty occurs. And the fault is not necessarily with the poor themselves. So that inevitably programs to address poverty are ineffectual because society has not changed
As a society, Malaysia readily embraces poverty, because poverty fosters dependence on people who love to control and repress. Poverty also allows the non poor to feel superior and gives them “the right” to exploit the needy
It’s an appalling indictment of Malaysian society that poverty exists at the level it does in what on the surface appears to be an affluent society
BTW, don’t blame the failure of the education system on the inability of parents to be stand in teachers. Many successful and well educated persons were born of illiterate parents. How do you think society has progressed?
