26 Aug 2020: The Board of Directors of OCR Bhb wishes to announced that it has entered into a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pahang state-linked corporation Northern Pacific Industrial Corp Bhd (NPIC) and DMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, to form a consortium to undertake the construction of the RM60 billion East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) project's Pahang parcel.

The collaboration aims at exploring the business opportunities in the ECRL project, to promote itself as the Pahang state's initiatives and contributions towards the well-being of Pahang’s socio-economic development. Additionally, it aims to secure the interest of Pahang state government and that of the federal government's commitment for participation and implementation of the project such as maximising the participation by local businesses and workforce in the project.

NPIC, EMC and OCR expect to enter into a formal long form business collaboration agreement, detailing the relations and full obligations of the three parties with the secured contracts obtained from the federal government.

Should the collaboration materialise, it is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the company and to the wellbeing of our fellow i3 readers who waited patiently at 5.30pm on a Friday.
