Making a quarterly loss doesn't mean it's a con company. Coal price remained high throughout Q1 while coke price stayed weak, thus the lacklustre results. (Note: I haven't read the quarterly report.)

GM68, what I gathered from the article is that coke prices are rising at a faster pace than coal prices, which are also on an uptrend.

It's worth noting that coke producers in Linyi, where HUAAN's factory is located, have increased their spot price by RMB100 effective today.

Increased steel production is a positive news for coke producers. It probably explains the rising coke price.

I don't think HUAAN would lose money in Q1. Today's bloodbath was broad-based, not specific to HUAAN.

Parliament will most likely be dissolved next week. Save some bullets for later. HUAAN's fundamentals are still intact. It's the market sentiment that has changed.

It wasn't a contract. It was the tariff order that Trump signed.

HUAAN is fundamentally sound but market sentiment is fragile. So better average down slowly, don't use up all your bullets. Still more than 2 months away from the next QR. We never know what's going to happen.

HUAAN's fundamentals are still intact, but with mounting trade war fear and Parliament dissolving in a couple of weeks, don't hope for a quick rebound. Please stay out if you aren't ready to hold this stock for 2-3 months.

This is not the first time the U.S. govt had to shut down. It's happened before and will most likely happen again (and again). Historically a govt shutdown hasn't had much impact on the stock markets.

Bro Jun Lim, the closing price for the day is set at 4:50pm as 4:50 to 5pm is the Trading at Last phase. You can try keying in any price other than the Theoretical Closing Price after 4:50pm and you'll find that you won't be able to do so.
