Ofcourse, don’t expect to catch lows. First gap to 3.30. Then few days 3.50/60. Even missed those is fine, because it spent a life time at 4! Waited and waited for you @buybye. Oh well...

Even if it does, you would have missed one cycle of 70% return ToT ... imagine that.. if that was your life savings, wow.... new car? New investment property? Child’s uni fees (almost like full scholarship!)? and you just watched it tick up. Worse than bleeding to death.

Like many things in life, there are winners... and there are losers. But that’s fine, I’ve been on both sides.

The part that stings is that you @buybye just watch your win go by and turned away a likely fortune. Gotta hurt.

But, it must’ve been utterly painful to have been following the price action as close as anyone here (if not more!) and seeing it trade 2.95 and going all the way up to 5.20 without getting involved. It’d have hurt me v bad if I were @buybye. Hard to swallow.

FYI equity long-short strategies on ESG portfolios are very well received by institutional investors these days.

@jason... I think of sbb as companies simply having more than enough cash to sustain itself. So they’re just returning the capital to the investors. It’s a good sign, there is no better indication to a company’s financial health than a predictable buyback program. Genm could retire the treasury stocks or let it sit there in case they need to (re-)raise capital. Genm is run like a proper professional outfit with defined buyback frequencies, it’s simply good governance. I can’t think of many corporations like that in Malaysia. By extension, that applies to Genting too ofcourse.

As someone noted here, this is very different from a desperate owner trying to defend share price - bad governance (G). That said company has violated 2/3 of ESG parameters (the other being horrible staff treatment, the ‘S’ aspect). No wonder it’s a target for foreign fund short sellers.

If so then nonadjustment is an outright injustice to the holder...

@jason the supposed adjustment was because warrant holders are not entitled to receive dividends?

@Imapotato, your warrants are basically call options, struck at 3.4 I believe. With the underlying price 5+ there is little optionality left. So price movement behaves like a vanilla share. Ofcourse you still have 3x leverage

By my calc, c95 has 3c/share of time premium remaining for the next 2 months (ie you sell now you can monetize 3 sen more than at expiry of it stays this level), you’re so deep in the money, it’s trading like a full stock.

Also see if any last min div chasers tomorrow. I saw a bit of pop up for pbb which ex div’d today.

As the name suggests, ex-div = excluding dividend, so on that date if buy, no div. want div, last day to buy is tomorrow.

When there is a big figure, the market loves to push it. That target is 2% for 10y ust. Now only 1.55%. I suspect tech rout got some ways to go. Just my view.

Foreign funds allocate in nominal usd terms. So to put %, it actually does not think in RM.

I actually convert genting prices in my head to usd and sgd at times.

@jason indeed! Some retracement is healthy, as I always say. No sellers taking profit means no buyers supporting it at technical levels. If external force comes selling, no defense... good example would be tech free fall observed now. All mostly momentum buyers pushing up. When real fundamental correction came, as in now, got caught pants down.

Long-term usd yields are so strongly correlated to tech stocks at the moment (eg aapl literally ticking with ust bps!), I’ll hesitate to catch the falling knife. Yellen says no inflation risk. Market thinks otherwise. Market is always right. In the mean time ride the recovery stocks ;-)

As some have mentioned. We’re really just beginning to see some benefits of the vaccination impact... cases drifting lower as even more providers get approved.
