That this report has made its way into the public domain is clearly a failing of management and it will be interesting to see the long term impact on Serba – clearly it is a chastening moment for Datuk Karim to have been badly exposed by shortcomings in his management team. However he has rightly fronted up and addressed the issues quickly rather than allowing the rumour mill to continue without substance.

What is disappointing is that it has once again exposed the weakness of auditors and their failure to invest in their own processes as they chase the heady revenues from management consulting. From the US to the UK Auditors in recent years have failed investors – in Malaysia 1MDB is a classic example and more recently Greensill in the UK – they are failing to examine businesses because they are not able to execute the basics of audit.

A simple case in point being the failure to get the audit balances from parties in third countries or understanding that the practice of registering a company via its Company Secretary is common practice. The more relevant question is are the parties capable of executing the transaction – this is a management decision and not for the auditor to make a subjective judgement. One only has to look at Government Contracts awarded improperly to companies with no capability to release that the whole stables need to be cleaned.

Am not going to give Serba a clean bill of health however their determination - witnessed by the statements - in respect of appointing an independent audit committee is a step in the right direction. Clearly there will also need to be management changes for allowing this situation to arise in the first place but before penalising Serba unjustifiably, given their past track record the whole sorry mess known as the Audit Profession needs to get its house in order. Looking at the broader picture, Datuk Karim directly or indirectly has created 15-20k jobs for Msian here & abroad. And it is to my understanding that all employees received full pay since d start of pandemic March 2020. Come on guys, give Datuk Karim a break !! Lets wait for independent auditor's findings before jumping into ridiculous conclusion.

If I were d client, i would hold this so called reputable auditor responsible for d losses related & effects on potential dealings. Investors should also analyse in depth to avoid 'premature ejaculation'.

This is a real joke ! I am an auditor by training . I went thru the Independent Review. It is clearly an insult to my intelligence. I am pretty sure that this is a case when auditor juniors being sent to clients as their training ground whereby the boss are busy looking for more clients & too busy to look at audit findings. Don't be judgemental la & handing punishment without checking in depth. In Kingston Cotton Mill case (1896) , the learned Judge summed up auditors' role stating auditors should be a watchdog not a bloodhound. I juz wonder what actually happened in 1MDB's case. Stop pressing panic button. Analyse d situation rationally & stop making ridiculous assumptions. Serba is a global player & fully aware of the Dos & Donts. The move that Serba made in bringing in an independent auditor reflects Serba's investors are in good hands. Kudos to Dato Karim.

Being an old school, i always believe in fundamentals. After having d liberty of analysing Sealinks AR for yr ended 31.12.20, i must admit having to eat humble pie. I retract my earlier statement of incompetent mgmt. The coy is technically sound & get my clean bill of health. Shud b a good investment & in d radar of Fund Mgrs. As to d auditors report on Going Concern issues, only GOD can see d future. I will be buying again 2moro. BUT, still Beware of Jerung!

It is juz a storm in d teacup. It seems like this audit fiasco caused unnecesary excitement. We shud b more rational & practical. There is always risk when diversifying globally esplly during this pandemic. Auditors tend to main selamat relating to Going Concern issues. Otherwise, Serba shud b technically & financially sound.

Hello, hello. What is going on with this stock??? With a cummulative loss of rm202.2m over d last 6 years, i reckon 20sen is a fair value of d stock. BUT, it went as high 32sen yday. I fully understand it is driven by supply & demand. Again i ask what happen to d fundamentals?? Do i smell rat ? I hope d relevant regulatory bodies in SC & KLSE are watching this closely. The jerung manipulators are making a mockery of our stock market ! This is reflected by the millions in buy/sell queue & can suddenly disappear in thin air.
