Another good news to Airasia

PUTRAJAYA: The government has given the green light for public transport to operate at full capacity again although safety measures such as temperature checks and the wearing of face masks will still be enforced.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said services such as express buses and airlines would no longer have to operate at half-capacity although passengers would be required to register themselves either manually or through the MySejahtera app for contact tracing in the event of an infection.

He also said carpooling for private cars would be allowed although limits will remain on the number of passengers allowed in a vehicle at any one time.

Likewise, e-hailing services can also take on more passengers and, as with express buses, will no longer be restricted to limited operating hours.

For your reading pleasure on my experience during SARS

During SARS 2003-2004, I was the MD of a public listed company of which one of the subsidiary company owns a 5 star Hotel resort in Malaysia. The hotel occupancy was about 85% for many years until SARS came along it drop to about 8%.
It was a nightmare to see the drop of tourist arrival and the flight from hongkong and china totally stop.
The situation those days is not as bad as covid now. SARS pandemic effected mainly china and hongkong and the rest of the world are not effected but still tourism industry had been impacted because of the worries.Fortunately after 6-8 months Hong Kong was declared free of SARS.
At that time similar to now ( Covid), we are investing in AirAsia share. All are worried about this pandemic, how much this airline performance had been impacted. What I can say is we or even new investors are buying it at a discounted price. If you care to look at Covid infection it is very clear that “area or countries” that are closer to China had lesser infection rate per million population ie HK 53,Taiwan 19,Vietnam 3 Thailand 45 as compared to USA 6,245 , UK 4,275. East Asia had the lowest infected rate than the rest of the world and incidentally it had the highest population in the world. In the nutshell we all somehow had the immunity and Asymptomatic.
Based on the above, most sectors will recover in no time and with the impending arrival of the vaccine it will further accelerate the recovery.
Going back to sars story after 8 months the hotel occupancy climb back to 85% and mind you with increased of room rate to balance it out for the 8 months loses.
So be patience, your share will go up given a bit of time. All the best.

Today Muhiddin announce palm oil (Bagi mendorong sektor komoditi, Kerajaan bersetuju memberi pengecualian 100 peratus duti eksport ke atas minyak sawit mentah, minyak isirong sawit mentah dan minyak isirong sawit yang diproses mulai 1 Julai 2020 hingga 31 Disember 2020.)
FGV trading price immediately when down.Surely institutional investors are push it down to collect more. I saw it live in conjunction with the announcement.

It means this stock is not ready to fly yet. They want to accumulate more before pushing it up. Believe me it will go up with all the good fundamentals and now with export duty waiver surely FGV will save a lot of money and competitive in its export as against Indonesia. Be patience it will go up to RM1.20 in 1 or 2 months time.

AirAsia to announce today on developing long-haul ops
Reuters | Jul 19, 2018
Media conference follows speculation that company will order new planes.

CEO Tony Fernandes has said AirAsia had not yet made a decision on which aircraft manufacturer to pick. (Bernama pic)
KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Group Bhd is to make a major announcement related to developing its long-haul operations this evening.
The briefing, expected to start soon, follows speculation that the company will order new planes.
The announcement comes two days after CEO Tony Fernandes said AirAsia had yet to make a decision on which aircraft manufacturer to pick.
AirAsia has been a steadfast Airbus narrow-body and wide-body customer.
However, recently, the company had talked to Boeing Co about buying the rival 787 jet as an alternative, a person familiar with the discussions told Reuters in April.
Long-haul arm AirAsia X has a firm order for 66 of the fuel-efficient Airbus A330neo widebody jets to replace its older first-generation A330s but it has been pushing back the delivery dates. It is Airbus’ biggest customer for the A330neo.
The airline also has a firm order for 10 A350s placed in 2009, but Fernandes in April said that the jet was “too expensive” and would not be purchased.
AirAsia was discussing the possible purchase of another 100 Airbus A321neo jets as Fernandes and Airbus went down to the wire in parallel negotiations for an expanded order for larger A330neo jets, industry sources said on Sunday

I am very sure the 2nd quarter profit is good and therefore they are ready to commit on buying more plane and in order to achieve this they must push the share beyond .45 cent in order to get warrant owner to convert to mother share and this is where they will have the additional money/capital. The 2nd Quarter result will be announce somewhere the 3rd week of next month. So there is a lot of time to push up the share. In 1 month there are about 20 days to push up .05 cent I day in 20 days it will be up .10cent and will be .48 cent by time the announce the result.
