Translation gain / losses is common for every company. Gain or losses fluctuate according to the depreciation or appreciation of the domestic currency against foreign currencies.
Focus on the core business and indicators related to the core business in income statement and cash flow statement

If I misled by SSLee 6 months ago invested in JTiasa instead of Cap A , I will suffer 15% of losses instead of 50% gain now.

I read his comment about his average holding price of JTiasa accumulated since 2 years ago. Slightly above RM1. At today closing price of 1.29 , 20% gain in 2 years ?
2 years ago , I invested in palm oil counter. Sold at 300% gain. I invested the proceed in an unfavorite stock just before capital repayment followed by privatization , another 120% return. Now in AAX and Capital A with 50% return in less than 6 months.

AAX and Cap A rank 6 and 7 in my 10 stocks Bursa portfolio.

Study Cap A financial statement. Look at how operating lease and right of use asset affected by weakening of US Dollar and how much the translation gain will impact the shareholder equity

Debt and shareholder equity will be taking care of post meger

Don't just keep on looking at past number. Stock is about the future. Look at the action taken and how it impact the financial statement in the future.

Don't just simply pull number from other stocks to compare and explain the equisition. This means that you not even know what you were doing.
Understand what action was taken by the management and how it strengthen the shareholder equity by using the simple formula above.

I'm not following JTiasa but understood that the company exporting palm oil and timber. Weak US Dollar will erroded their revenue and bottom line.
I will stay away with this stock.

Everything is turning positive to aviation business. Weak US dollar , low fuel and high demands for air travelling. The best time to invest in aviation business for holding of 6months to 1 year as of now. Cap A and AAX through the restructuring exercise unlock the value which further strengthening the stock price. Great rewards for the shareholders

Lower oil price might take longer time to reflect in the profit as airlines use derivative to partially hedge the oil price so that they can determine the air fare for next few months to stay profitable.

CapA under value due to PN17 status. Once see light at the end of the tunnel , IB will revise and upgrade the TP.
AAX with all the aviation business under one roof will benefit from the positive sentiment in aviation businesses.
6 months from now , the value will be unlock. Stock price will up significantly bearing any unforsee circumstances.

@abidinaa the strengthening of RM against US Dollar will strengthen both CapA and AAX shareholder equity through translation gain.
