Star should declare a special dividend this month with JAKS' compensation (RM50mil).

The dividend will make the upcoming X'mas and CNY more exciting. Cheers

I see good potential in LBS like alfredloo90. It won't take too long for prudent investors to discover LBS's potential before they start investing heavily in this counter. Cheers

It has also launched its 315-acre township named Rimbawan in Genting on Oct 16. The GDV of this project is RM9.5 billion. It looks like it can break 70c barrier soon. Cheers

Unknown404, LBS's share price would be adjusted (minus 1.35c div) when the market opened at 9am today. Its performance after that would depend on the market sentiment.

Why Star was so active with 4 million shares transacted? Is there any good news about this counter?

Glomac has declared a 1.25c per share dividend for Y/E Apr'24. Yield is 2.75% which is better than FD hovering around 2.4%.

The Board will declare dividend this month and it will be very likely be higher than 2.45c as declared for last year. It's time to accumulate. Cheers

LBS performed extremely well in 2023 (EPS 7.70cts) as compared to 2022 (EPS 6.73cts) and 2021 (EPS 5.13cts). It declared 2.45cts for Y/E 2022 and 1.85cts for Y/E 2021. Quite likely the Board will declare 3cts for Y/E 2023 or a little higher than that. Good yield counter.

The Board has done a good job in preserving so much cash in Star. The owning of many valuable assets comes as a huge bonus for the co to realise their values for the benefit of the shareholders. Tong has good ideas in fulfilling this endeavour and it's high time that shareholders should be rewarded accordingly.
2023-06-07 12:56 | Report Abuse
Being a substantial shareholder, Tong is only doing his part to realise the great potential of Star. The Board should take note what Tong had proposed in his article. Star belongs to all shareholders, not only to a few major shareholders.

It's time I can pick up more. Pelikan has given me good returns since I started buying in Aug'20. My confidence in this counter remains strong. Cheers

Pelikan is an established nineteenth century co. At the current price, a cash rich company may be interested to acquire Pelikan for diversification. After all, stationery products are nonseasonal in nature. Students are attracted to buy more if the designs are creative. Cheers.

Pelikan is a resilient co. I started buying this counter in Aug'20 at a price of 29c per share and it has given me good returns since then. I will plough back the accumulated gain plus 20c div into this counter. The current price is too attractive for a patient investor like me to resist. Happy investing.

YTD (9mos) Pelikan made 4.32cts EPS. As schools are returning to normal soon, this counter has good potential even after the div ex date on Dec 28. Pelikan has given me good returns since I started buying in Aug'20. I will hold on for the special div and grow with the co. The co should be in a better financial position after the recent asset disposal. Don't forget it still has some valued assets in its possession. Cheers!

In the past 15 months US has banned imports of gloves from 5 Malaysian cos. MS will benefit from these import restrictions. Moreover, MS has the advantage of cost-effectiveness as compared to those local existing glove manufacturers. MS employs highly-automated/high-speed machines in its productions with 12-production lines fully commissioned this month. It can also capture a bigger medical grade gloves as Canada has already awarded MS a medical device licence. Other Western countries will follow suit.

MS's div payout ratio is currently 40% and this ratio has enabled the co to preserve cash for land acquisition and expansion. A good management policy but it shouldn't overlook shareholders' expectations. Perhaps, declare an interim div of 1.5% now since the co has done quite well (ytd 3.86cts EPS). Shareholders are waiting for such excitement, a present/angpow for this coming X'mas/CNY.

TA is in a net cash position of RM227milas as at Sep'18, while the same period last year was in negative territory (RM985mil). To declare 5.5cts dividend for Y/E Dec'18, shouldn't be a problem. Launching a REIT to acquire those hotels from TAGB now is definitely a step in the right direction.
2018-12-18 18:37 | Report Abuse
According to my 11-year dividend analysis, even the EPS for the final qtr is zero, TA can afford to declare 5.5cts dividend for the Y/E Dec'18. When the EPS was 16.1cts in 2008, TA declared a dividend of 10cts. Until Sep'18, TA's EPS was 14.1cts. If TA can achieve an EPS of 2cts for the final qtr, there is a possibility that it may repeat 2008 dividend payout. Cheers!

The last round I disposed my TA share was in Jul'14. Since then I have been accumulating TA shares again both for dividend and capital gain. I have been a loyal investor of TA since 2003 and I will continue to do so, especially when the co is doing so well now. I foresee some excitement ahead. The potential of TA share price moving up in the near future is SO GREAT!
The Board should declare an interim dividend, say 4cts per share, you will then see TA shines like a STAR.
Calvin, although I have been investing in the market for more than 3 decades, I'm still learning from you. Don't get distracted by discourteous remarks. You are not obliged to respond. Focus on your research so that we can all read your thoughtful analyses every other day.

Based on my 10-year dividend payout analysis, I noticed that the Board is willing to pay good dividend within its capability to do so. Year 2017 EPS was 12.6¢, thus it is incumbent upon the MD to recommend a dividend commensurate with its latest performance. Bear in mind, with an EPS of 16.10¢, TA paid a dividend of 10¢ in 2008. Cheers!

In year 2008 when EPS was 16.10¢, TA declared a dividend of 10¢. Whereas year 2009 when EPS was 6.44¢, TA declared a dividend of 4.5¢. I believe the Board may incline to impress shareholders with a generous dividend this year as TA should be able to do better from now onwards. Cheers!

I have carried out a 10-year analysis on TA's dividend payout ratio which arrives at 43.5%. Based on 2017 EPS of 12.6¢, the Board may declare a dividend of 5.5¢ this month. It has been more than 8 years, TA dividend payments hadn't gone above 2.5¢. It is time that the Board may want to reward loyal investor like me a surprise return. My first foray into TA was 2003. So far I'm happy with TA's performance. Cheers!
