There is a shift in various sectors' outlook in bursa with what happened today to gamuda's prospect being revised down due to government's policy shifts in cutting some major logistic projects affecting the local construction sector as a whole. I think aviation & tourism sectors should be doing very well since PM-in waiting Anwar is backing Tony to push for travel hub in PD. Besides that the aviation sector is growing very well.

AirAsia said it is optimistic that the remaining transfers will take place by end-October. "A further announcement will be made accordingly," it added.

Share price was depressed for over 2 weeks to collect massively between 2.99-3.03 and intention to set lowest now at 3.05 so that they can even make a profit. Pure share price manipulation to its core. Wait for good news and we'll see a reversal. Steady and be patient.

The one that caught my attention is the "Total debt / EBIT" where Airasia is ranked 1st among all the Top 15 cash rich companies.

Net Debt/EBIT is a measure of indebtedness of a company. It is calculated as a company's Net Debt divided by its, EBIT. The Net Debt/ EBIT ratio shows how many years it would take for a company to pay back its debt if Net Debt and EBIT are held constant. Generally, the lower this ratio the better.

Only when it rises we can see most come out cheerleading. This is a typical behavioral of today's stock market participants. If u understand and do just the opposite of them while u understood the real fundamentals and operations of AA, u would have raked in quite handsome profit each time. Behavioral science.

People who do not see prospects or values in AA but whine about it during rising oil price are big part of the amusement. If high oil price is the only deciding factor why u consider pulling your $ out of AA then it means that u are being too simplistic in your investing thoughts.

Most people don't get it and when they see high oil price, they freaked out. AA has a lot of tools in its arsenal to counter rising oil price. Hope that helps to understand a bit of AA.

Example 5 trips sold for $500 and earns $75 at 15% profit margin. With the same fleet and increase more flight frequency to 8 trips sold for $720 (10% ticket discount) earns total $108 at 15% profit margin. That translates into a whopping +44% increase in overall profit based on the concept of "SAME FLEET WITH INCREASED FLIGHT FREQUENCY & REDUCED TICKET PRICES". Does that makes sense to u? That is why with high oil price, AA will will counter it by increasing capacities (MORE FLIGHT FREQUENCY + MORE SEATS PER FLIGHT).

“About 53 per cent travellers are now travelling in low cost in Asia Pacific region. Our strategy is to increase frequencies – adding more (flights and seats) that means price will be reduced,” he said.

He said AirAsia will be adding about 267 flights over the next festive period and confident of achieving full capacity.

“To deal with higher oil prices, we have to increase our efficiency and turnaround time. We continue to add about 20 planes every year for AirAsia.

You can pick out the right facts from many sources confirming that AA will be paying dividend every 2 years being their new committed dividend policy with the most lucrative bumper dividend to be paid before closure of fiscal year ending 2018 which means in the upcoming Q3 or Q4.

There is always demand for air travels. If high oil price can depress Airasia's earnings until into troubles then it wouldn't have grown into such a giant airline company today. You seriously think high oil price will cause it to bankrupt or lose money in long term? That is just one factor only. I don't think Airasia depends on aviation business alone and it starts to monetize its other businesses such as its BIG DATA (customers' personal & spending info) collected over the years...this will be a real gamechanger. Just look at Alibaba where Jack Ma has been foreseeing the same trend towards big data business. In Malaysia alone, which company do u think will buck the trend in big data business? Which company has most consumer spending data besides banks? Loyalty card companies also have such data but I think Airasia will buck the trend among all because AA has data not only from Malaysian travelers but also those tourists from other countries.

Hi freddiehero, I'm not worried if it goes lower because fundamentals are good but I wish to understand if the violent selling yesterday was in some way caused by IDSS. Anyone?

I'm not sure if IDSS is regarded as RSS. I've checked last night that no RSS was done on Airasia but AAX only. Anyone can tell me if IDSS transactions are NOT considered as RSS? Appreciate some input on this matter.
