Profit variance of 124%, if not fake accounting then what is it? Distress accounting or distress directors and management due to SC criminal charges? Plus SC charges on top management officials for creating fake invoices conclusive that this is more than creative accounting.

If the Management agrees to such a big impairment and write down on inventory for business prior to Jun 2021 before this whole saga started,, in a way they admitted there are some factual findings.

This is not an Audited Report but Annual Report where no audit opinion is given.

It spells out very clearly that directors are responsible for the preparation of annual report..

NTA of unreliable Serbak post audited accounts is 76 sen on 30/06/2021. Since then there were bonds default and the company cannot fully pay interest. What is the adjusted NTA by 31/12/2021? Will the bondholders go for creditors winding up?

By 2/12/2021 Chef got no more shares in Serbak, preparing to resign?

In short, what the external auditor is implying to shareholders, "thank you for the appointment as auditors, however after having conducted the audit and in view of so many current and past issues outstanding, they are court cases, SIR, bond defaults, lack of documentary evidence and also being in the circumstances of appointed late as auditors, Nexia have no or can't form an opinion on the accounts between so and so period.

In other words, the account is not reliable for anyone to make any investment decision.

Yeah if you believe in Bolehland laws one for muslim and another for non Muslims? Or rather if you have enough money to pay and avoid jail terms?

Survey show only 2 to 3 percent of people make money in stock market. This minority are those who explore apportunity in counter that majority and media loss hope or paint a bad image on it. Following the crowd is not the way for real investor. We need to do fact finding first before deciding our action and not base on rumors or the crowd.

Only for their staff, morale is low and staff all leaving, maybe only ball carriers and unproductive ones still left behind

SCIB scrip is written by the Chef. Chef will not have time to manage as he will be fighting not to go to Sg Buluh pen. Possible too that SCIB may be dragged into Serbak fiasco as they have been trading with each other. Only time will tell.

China learnt that the end justifies the mean. That's where Deng Xiou Ping prefers any colour of a cat to catch a mouse. Meaning embracing capitalism if it is good for the people. You would call pragmatism. Meritocracy may not be true, within the elite in PLA/CCP may be more of who you know. But the general populace ie private sectors and non-government links could have elements of meritocracy.

Professor Mahbubani, what would you say are the main lessons we learnt from the leadership that transformed Singapore and which we can still apply today?


Singapore had three remarkable leaders: Lee Kuan Yew, Goh Keng Swee and Rajaratnam. No country has improved the living standard of its people as quickly and as comprehensively as Singapore did in its first 50 years. When I was dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, I told the students who were coming from all over the world that I would have given them the secrets of Singapore success and I would have done so free of charge. And the secrets are captured in an acronym –MPH – which stands for three words. M for Meritocracy: one reason why Singapore is exceptionally successful is because its leaders tried to get the best possible people to join them in government, so the quality of minds of the leaders matter, but the quality of the minds of the people that are around them is equally important. The second letter, P, stands for pragmatism: Singapore is by far the most pragmatic country in the world. It will try anything without thinking whether this it will fit its ideology. The third letter is the hardest one and that is why most countries fail: it stands for honesty. By accident of history we had three brilliant leaders who were also exceptionally honest, even when Singapore was a very poor country and the salaries were very low. If any country can implement these three principles, I guarantee you the country will succeed.

Hong Kong is a problem where the brit gave up a prosperous colony to a centralised CCP government in Beijing who had no experience in the democratic process, have no idea of a ruling democracy and will never surrender their control over the colony. It is like giving monkey flowers.

This is what is happening in Malaysia where democracy is unable to deliver, where autocratic populism hijacks the democratic process.

and definitely, it is a work in progress.............

In short, democracy as an ideal depends on the quality of institutions and if these institutions corrode, become politically captured or are unable to deliver what politicians promise, then democracy or whatever ideology is in power will inevitably be subject to change by peaceful or violent means.

There is no single formula or fixed template to raise living standards in each country, as there are restrictions and obstacles in nation-building. What is applicable in China is not necessarily good for Malaysia or for that matter any other country. If you let the majority of the people decide (that is democratic) do not mean that it will be good for the nation. Take EPF withdrawal and Brim payment, these are compromising members retirement funds and creating and increasing government debts without increasing productivity respectively.
