KUALA LUMPUR (April 19): The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) says today the government has decided to reinstate the Bandar Malaysia project, which was abruptly terminated in May 2017, because the project will have a significant impact on Malaysia's economy.

The PMO said in a statement today the joint venture to take up 60% of Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd was awarded to a consortium, IWH-CREC Sdn Bhd.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has announced that the Bandar Malaysia project will be revived but with some changes.

He said the original contractors, which is a consortium consisting of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Bhd and China Railway Engineering Corp Sdn Bhd (IWH-CREC), have 60 days to pay the original deposit sum of RM741mil with an additional RM500mil.

FACT 3, Gov didn't say BM award to IWH-CREC, only u guys keep speculate due to the chinapress report. The purpose of the report is to trap ppl like u.

The performance bond forfeited because building not deliver in time. After building is deliver to Star, can get PB money back? PB is guarantee to deliver project, not a penalty.

I not contractor so dont know. My thinking is after deliver building, then performance bond get returned to Jaks. And then The Star get paid for late delivery penalty. Jaks pay both PB and late penalty like not very correct.

Anyone in the industry can comment?
