this is all due to high taxation and lack of enforcement by the govt..the amount that they seized is very minimal compared to the overall sale of illicit cigarettes in malaysia.. how will the shares go up if this is the risk?

Illicit market has doubled since the surge in excise duty in 2015 (33.5% in 2015 vs. 63% in 2019). now the shares might look okay but down the line? as long as illicit cigarettes are flooding the market, they will always record a loss at the end of fiscal year.

This is why I don't invest in Malaysia.. there is very little/no enforcement. Government just simply taxes you like this but end up everyone buys johns for RM5..what are they even doing about the sale of illicit cigarettes?
