Kuala Lumpur : Mark Ding Peng Peng, the mainland Chinese millionaire who controls  Xidelang Holdings Bhd, an apparel and shoe maker listed on Bursa Malaysia, plans to make an audacious bid to gain control of rival public listed company, XOX Bhd, people familiar with the matter said yesterday.

XOX Bhd, controlled by Datuk Eddie Chai Woon Chet, is mainly involved in the telecommunication business, but the company is said to have close ties with Badminton star Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who at times appears as a brand ambassador for the company.

XDL shares were last traded at 3.5 sen a share, while XOX shares were last traded at 13.5 sen a share. MyStock118, was told that Ding has yet to formally convey his intentions to the XOX board, and that there is a strong possibility that Eddie, who is trying to turn XOX into his holding company, will resist any attempt of a takeover, regardless of the price.
