Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd (GHSB), has successfully secured approval for a 10 megawatt (MW) small hydropower project in Sungai Perak, Perak.

The project is under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia’s (SEDA Malaysia) small hydro feed-in tariff (FIT) programme.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, G Capital said the approval has improved the expected annual revenue for the 10MW project by 15.9 per cent over the 21-year tenure.

GHSB is currently holding a Feed-in Approval Holder (FiAH) Certificate issued by SEDA Malaysia on March 30, 2018 for a 10MW installed capacity low-head small hydropower plant situated on Sungai Perak.

The yearly energy yield of 67,767 megawatt-hour (MWh) at a fixed price of 25 sen per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for a period of 21 years is reflected in the signed Renewable Energy Power Purchase Agreement with Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
