There's a strong possibility that omicron will suppress the much deadlier delta, because in south africa, around 98%-99% percent of the covid are already omicron. Without vaccines made specifically for omicron, the admission reduced and death number dropped despite higher number being infected.

how do Delta and Omicron combine? Viruses reproduce a$exually. Omicron will just overtake Delta to become dominant strain because it's much more transmissible, but since Omicron has much lower virulence, it will cause much lower admission rate than Delta (more than 70% of omicron patients in south africa were incidental findings because of the hospital mandatory tests, meaning they were admitted due to other reasons). Its bad news for glove fanatics. The current higher admission rate is just temporary, once people get herd immunity by natural infections which will be formed really fast due to its transmissibility, it will be the death of glove industry.
