MRT Corp awarded the undergrounds works to MMC Gamuda in 2016 following an international
competitive tender that, due to the challenging ground conditions, had stringent pre-qualification
requirements with only 5 contractors pre-qualified by MRT Corp to tender, of which MMC Gamuda
was the only local contractor.
The bids were evaluated by the Reference Design Consultant, Arup Singapore Pte Ltd, appointed by
MRT Corp. MMC Gamuda’s bid scored the highest technical score and offered the lowest price. MMC
Gamuda’s price was lower than the pre-tender estimate prepared by Arup Singapore Pte Ltd.
So the other 4 companies also overcharge for MRT2 project since Gamuda is the lowest.

Q1) MMC-Gamuda underground contract terminated or not.
Government: Yes, Tony Pua: No. Government is not terminating the underground contract bcoz plans to award to another contract. Which one is correct?

"But perhaps, instead of starting a petition on Change.org to seek the government to reverse its decision on the termination, it might be more productive to start a petition to ask your bosses at MMC-Gamuda to make the Malaysian Government an offer they cannot refuse. Bosses at MMC-Gamuda is EPF/ASB which in turn is Government. Their MD only hold a mere 3%

Foreign fund selling hammered blue chips as worries about higher taxes – such a capital gains tax – cast a pall of gloom over the stock market on Wednesday, with the losses outpacing the regional markets.

Well, cost saving by reducing number of underground station and scope of work it not saving. Is like you buy Toyota Camry with 18" sport rim, now you change to 17" sport rim, of coz you will save.

I think Gamuda sure can come out with those cost saving method. Less entrance, no need escalator, use cheap tiles, less turnstile, less ticket machines. so many options.
