@Pingman Wow, 40mn profit?

Existing sign of price weakness is due to consolidation/correction of shares which have been grossly overbought since probably a week ago. This is considered a healthy and necessary process in an uptrend stock so that it could scale higher & higher heights on its upward trajectory. Unfortunately, this correction will certainly cause contra players and weak holders to lose money but it's probably a blessing for bargain hunters! For your info, MMSV started its current uptrend move on 30/12/2020, well before its peers like Elsoft and Penta. Of course we all know by now that Malaysia tech shares have become the attention of investors/speculators for the past week or so. As for directors' selling the shares, different people read it quite differently. It could be seen as directors releasing some shares into the market to increase share liquidity since MMSV shares are so tightly held?! Pessimists see this as negative because they think it's ominous for the company. Well, things may not seem so straightforward. Remember that human psychology is very much at play in the share market! By the way, I observe that back in the middle of 2017, MMSV shares started their previous meaningful uptrend from about 0.60 and hit high of 2.01 in less than 3 months!

What a solid closing today for MMSV!

Apple shares hit $253 in US market trading just now. Strong demand for iPhone 11 is most probably one main reason. A check with local Epicenter in IOI Mall Puchong today revealed that twice-a-day daily shipments to the store have been snapped up long before the end of the day!

Another new record close for Apple shares on NYSE!

At 0.855, this is the best closing for MMSV in at least 6 months!

Today’s trading is a healthy profit-taking and correction. For your info, MMSV shares were at 0.62 a month ago. As we all know, stocks, like human beings, also need a breather before scaling higher ground. Its share price should be moving upward in tandem with its improving fundamentals and more favorable global tech sector conditions.

In the current lacklustre KLSE market, technology shares are a better bet. As mentioned earlier, favorable iPhone 11 orders/sales are the main factors contributing to better sentiment on these stocks. And 5G iPhone is expected to come on the market hopefully in Sep 2020. As such, I'd expect to see revenue of these tech companies (namely Globetronics, Inari, Penta, Elsoft, MMSV) picking up from now until at least late 2020. Technically, although MMSV shares seem overbought, the short-term, medium-term and very soon, longer-term moving averages are all about to be well aligned. For your info, Apple shares are trading close to its all-time record high!

The catalyst for the current bull run in tech stocks was probably due to the launch of iPhone 11 for which the demand is anticipated to be better than that of the previous year.

Since bull run is happening in tech stocks and the rest of KLSE are struggling, naturally the market liquidity has been flowing into tech stocks lately, propelling most of them past one technical resistance after another ......

Seems that the tech stocks on KLSE are having a "mini" bull run while the rest of the market struggling .....

Next quarter results will be compared against 4th quarter 2017 which recorded the least revenue and least profit of all the quarters in 2017. Might not be too bad after all. According to its CEO, Mr. Sia, sales to automotive sector are expected to offset the slower demand from the smart devices sector in coming quarters. Business in auto sector has been forecast to increase by a fifth in 2019.
With zero debt and close to RM30 mil in cash (as of 30Sep2018), MMSV is much better financially than a lot of other listed entities on KLSE. Potential takeover target?
Conclusion: this company is certainly worth a bet at current beaten down share price .......

I notice from yesterday trading details that the 1 mil shares sale was done in 2 consecutive transactions at 1.63, without causing any disruption to the market price. The buyer could be a value investor who is optimistic about the company's prospects. Actually, the company had been buying up own shares since early last year from prices below 0.6 up until 1.85 this year. As such, nothing wrong to take some profit on the treasury shares holding. After all, it still got almost 2.2 mil treasury shares on hand.

Judging by the price and volume action for the past few days, there could be institutional funds buying in. Back on 22/3/2018, Maybank Investment Bank research issued a buy call with target price of RM2.02

Go down to 1.20? Not likely! Company CEO, Mr. Sia, has repeatedly provided guidance on lower revenue (10% to 15% lower) and profit for FY2018 as compared to FY2017. However, the share price still stays around this level; meaning price has been discounted.

Just when everyone thought it was a gone case. The value of a good company's shares is always there and will eventually go up to where it belongs.

As mentioned in the article, Foxconn plans to invest US$4b on expansions into cutting-edge technology. Part of that money would probably and eventually filter down as orders to companies like MMSV. A big positive!

Investors tend to make higher return on shares that they have bought when the technicals are ugly, especially the cause of the poor TA is not related to MMSV itself but from other stocks.

As for the TA, moving averages for 5 days, 20 days and 90 days are all nicely aligned in a bullish pattern. Any piece of good news now, such as approval of main board transfer, would probably propel the price past the all-time high of 2.05. Even if it isn't approved, the downside is very limited since the price is well supported by strong fundamentals

1.83 is the best closing since Nov 1, 2017. TA improved further and are now on a more solid footing within a renewed uptrend trajectory. This is aided by KLCI and market volume which are on fire. So is ACE Market index.

Hang Seng index up 1.4% this morning. Tech stocks like Tencent surged almost 2%. What a way to start off 2018 !!!

According to Wall Street Journal, MMSV's public float are 39.09 M or about 23.9% of shares outstanding. Trailing 12-month P/E ratio 13.4. If transferred to main board, it's reasonable to expect its shares to trade at P/E above 20, closer to Penta which is now trading at P/E 25.

The recent market correction, especially in tech sector presented a golden opportunity to collect beaten down but fundamentally intact shares. December is also the time fund managers actively doing window dressing and re-balance their portfolio in anticipation of January 2018. Traditionally, due to January effect, market should be moving higher.

At 1.69 the PE is only 12.5. Still grossly undervalued, especially in view of pending transfer to main board

Lesson learned. When an excellent fundamental stock is at its ugliest technicals, it’s a screaming buy, not to short. Weak minds are prone to be influenced by unfounded rumors!

As for transfer to main board, whether it is approved or rejected, the company must make timely announcement to the investing public. Based on Bursa ruling, a company can’t intentionally withhold material info as they wish.

For those who are interested in TA, you may have noticed that the share price didn't break the recent low of 1.53 two days ago (1.53 occurred on Nov 16). And has since rebounded to today's close at 1.59 despite weak market conditions.

As for shariah compliant status, it’s definitely an added boost. Government fund such as Kumpulan Persaraan Wang is known to invest in good fundamental shares. Recent example was SKPResources which has gone up from 1.60 to now 2.07

How sentiment about MMSV has changed in a week. Last week, after believing the untruths, sellers were rushing for the exit below 1.60. However, as of right now, people aren’t that willing to let go the shares at above 1.70. What changed? Fundamentals remain the same. In retrospect, when the technicals looked ugliest, that was a buying opportunity!

The meaning of riot: "violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd". If there were such an incident, it would have been widely reported by the news media.

In a professionally run company, I am sure the departmental heads will iron out whatever differences in meetings chaired by the GM or CEO. Civilized people like us don't resort to violence.

Salary review is usually conducted after performance appraisal of individual employee at the end of the year (or maybe plus middle of the year). Some employees are outstanding performers while others are just average. This process, as part of the HR, is supposed to be P&C. First time I heard the entire department requested for salary increase.

Head hunting of staff in competitor companies happens all the time and across all industries as well. Each and every company is facing such issue of retaining good staff.

Will its 2Q17 inventories number be a good indicator for the 3rd quarter performance this time around?

As a basis of comparison, for 3Q17, Pentamaster's revenue and net profit increased 52% and 27% qoq (note that a non-recurring expense of RM4.7 mil was excluded here).

As the info forwarded by hstha yesterday, worldwide sales of semiconductors hit record high in 3Q17. Therefore, MMSV could possibly surprise market by recording higher revenue and net income in Q3.

Bravo to those who have faith in MMSV and are now rewarded with a rebound.

And this is contrary to general market expectations that 3Q17 would be slower than 2Q17 for semiconductor test equipment companies. On the same token, we can expect MMSV's 3Q results to be not too far off from those of Penta.

MMSV also bought 100K shares into treasury today, when there's persistent irrational fear or rumour about its stock. Good move!

As of yesterday close, %K and %D readings were at 10% and 9%, indicating deeply oversold. Smart money is quietly absorbing selling ....

Probably there are a couple of big sellers trying to profit from shorting their shares. In the process, some panic retail investors follow them, falling into their psychological trap of fear.

MMSV Bhd is currently trading in a deeply oversold territory and should be poised for rebound soon. There's no reason for it to trade this way as the price of Penta which is in similar business has been trending upward in anticipation of release of 3rd quarterly results.

iPhone X comes with OLED as opposed to LED in previous models. As such, it probably requires more complicated and thus more expensive testing equipment. That should mean higher margin for suppliers.
