What a lousy result, insider news say RM 17mil is quite thue but is pbt, not pat.

one off income RM 14.2mil(insurans claim+forex gain,reverse impairment), offset PAT 14.1mil still a lose making counter.

Short sighted. Pls looking forward 6 months. 2nd q on will be very good q's. TA also suggest that. Last q results also not very impressive but the price advanced more than 30% after the results.
My prediction is the price drop back to 1.15 after few days, before starting to trend higher.

When Kanger announced loss making results Nov last year, I asked Kanger investors to hold on to see coming Feb results. Price hiked from 0.075 to 0.11 and, will continue to surge after the results.
The important things is whether can you predict it thru TA and FA or not.

Q1 results PAT RM14.2 mil can be broken down into:

1) Insurance BIL claim RM9 mil after tax

2) Operations RM5.2 mil after tax

We still picked up relocation costs in Oct and Nov. The EMS could be better.

Project Nixon (EMS codename) we need 600k pieces of aluminium tubing for vacuum cleaners worth RM4.5 mil sales per month from June 2020 onwards. We need RM6 mil capex to build anodising line and extrusion lines.

Many other projects coming onstreamline in H2.

Project Stingray (Extrusion solutions codename) is a major expansion of the extrusion business from 200 tons per month capacity to 1000 tons capacity and billet furnace for upstream recovery of aluminium leftovers. Mainly for external customers.
We expect RM10 to 12 mil sales contribution from Stingray in FY2021.

We are transforming the group into an aluminium total solutions company more than precision machining or fabrication but complete integration in 3 years time.

If you are a short term term investor then you may be missing out on the longer longer term prospects.

But always caveat emptor ie do your own analysis and risk assessment.

Notion is on a hyper growth phase. But the global markets look unsteady so be careful.

BIL claim of 9 million after tax instead of 12 million plus should have been clearly explained in the quarter report. Many of us got the impression why operation net profit was only about 2 million. Now we know is 5.2 million. In this case the overall performance for this quarter s good . Not to mention expected much better second half performance

Sorry 888next I am a little bit confused. Just want to know how do you get Operations Core Profit After Tax of RM5.2 mil?

This is because if we deduct Operating Expenses of RM11.8 mil from the Gross Profit of RM14.7 mil, the core profit before tax is only around RM2.9 mil (excluding BIL which is recorded under Other Operating Income). So if we include taxes, the final Core Profit After Tax should be less than RM2.9 mil?

Correct me if I am wrong. Thank you!

Dear Fattmoney

Simpler to apply corporate tax 25% to the RM12.2 mil BIL claim and its after tax contribution is RM9.1 mil and deduct it from the RM14,2 mil PAT.

The way you compute is right but you have neglected contribution from Other Operating Income such as aluminium scrap sales and equipment rental income arising from using equipment from our Jigs & Fixtures department (a cost centre) for the EMS business. Hope it helps
