CPO futures at two-year high, prices rally above RM5,000 per tonne

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives hit a two-year high, as prices rallied to above RM5,000 per tonne, a trader said.

Palm oil trader David Ng said the market outlook remains positive with Indonesia implementing a higher biodiesel mandate next year which will boost demand for palm oil.

“Market sentiment was also influenced by weaker output pace. Hence, we see prices well supported above RM4,800 per tonne and resistance at RM5,150 per tonne,” he told Bernama.

FastmarketS Palm Oil Analytics senior analyst Sathia Varqa said CPO futures notched a 30-month high, supported by a strong biodiesel demand outlook amidst a tight first-quarter production view.

Coming dividend I predict 80 sen to 100 sen in total, likely to be at the lower side. Final dividend to be the same. Share valuation wise, it will remain high despite the same amount of dividend.

If I were the boss, I am inclined to borrow the money to pay extra dividend if I can get a term loan at 3% interest rate or lower. But I am not the boss. And I think the boss knows more than I in recognizing what are the right things to do.

i think 80cent should be good enough ... when i bought utplt its because the management prudent in managing the the company so i hope they don't give large divident just because sake of rewarding the shareholder .. i am sure people will curse me .. bring it on .... more 100% unrealised profit also hahaha

Expect more payout in Q3 due to the 2% dividend tax.
My target is RM31.67 based on the 6% yield payout, using RM1.90 - 2023 dividend as benchmark.
If they pay more, price target will be higher.
