I do not know how is Insas a decade ago.
I only know Insas is deeply undervalued because of insas holding in Inari.

I do not understand why people spend billion just to hold 330,000,000 inari share when they can use the same billion to become controlling shareholder of Insas and hence become controlling shareholder of Inari.

Funds buy Inari for the regular quarterly dividends.

“Sslee > I do not understand why people spend billion just to hold 330,000,000 inari share when they can use the same billion to become controlling shareholder of Insas and hence become controlling shareholder of Inari.”

Since after some time, no opinion forthcoming (only @TheContrarian opinion before finish typing) , my take:
‘- PP subscription at max of 10% discount from 5 days VWAP, chances of gain logically.
‘- PP $ added to paid up capital, unlike buying from the open market.
‘- if buying from the open market, the price will fluctuate; just like throwing $ into a bottomless hole..

There are pros and cons of PP, hope it will answer Sslee's question. Other opinions are welcome. Happy Trading.

Mr Sslee is asking why funds buy Inari via private placement rather than making a hostile takeover of Insas.

Sslee

My question is why not spend less owned more Inari share and become controlling shareholder of Inari and appoint your nominees to the the board of director of Inari?

And the best part if able to take over Insas then you still have whatever inside insas including the 1 bilion cash hoard.

“Sslee > And the best part if able to take over Insas then you still have whatever inside insas including the 1 bilion cash hoard.”

In a nutshell, PP is internal funding inside Inari which can add Inari value whereas buying Insas from the open market could be a ‘futile hostile’ exercise…two different exercises with two different outcomes.
For example, both Inari and Insas are a piece of empty land (Insas own a small portion of Inari); PP is $ spend to build a tall building to add value whereas bidding/spending on the other piece of land could be a ‘futile hostile’ exercise with no value added…

As investor you can either choose to invest on Inari PP or not and it did not affect Inari as other investor will take up the PP.

My question as investor why invest in inari PP when you can use the money to make a take over of Insas and become controlling shareholder of Inari and still owned whatever inside Insas?

Thong smart, he ensured Insas haram so EPF or KWAP can't buy Insas.

Thong is very smart and like a poker player watching with his hawk eye from sideline to time his move to increase his and PAC holding in Insas from 32.96% to above 50% at lowest cost to him and his PAC

TheContrarian

Needs to buy 35 million shares to become substantial shareholder.

Sslee

Tong buy in Star Media to become a substantial shareholder.
Will Tong do that too with Insas?

If he does I will write to him on his right to table his resolution at AGM for shareholder voting to appoint himself to be Insas director.

It will cost Tong probably twice his cost in Star to build a 5% stake in Insas.

One group is trying to keep the price low(most people know who) while another group is happily collecting when the price is low.The tussle is getting interesting.

I have heard insas already doing financing for microlink. Apparently some people blame thong for the mess at Omesti and microlink so he is forced to bailout microlink. Apparantly he is very arrogant the insas is his and the board will do as they are told …

Insas hold omesti share and RPS as fair value financial assets.
And every quarter will report fair value gain/loss on this asset.

This coming quarter end 31/3/2024 very interesting to check what will be the disposal gain on 10 million inari and 100 million M&A share.

Another interesting Corporate Politics, someone is testing the water to see the exercising Warrants 49,000 even though it is OUT OF MONEY at current price RM1.03.

If Thong is careful, he will have enough Warrants to convert his INSAS WA to secure >50.01% ordinary shares from current 32.9%.

SSLee is expert to calculate THong’s true holdings via his friendly allies or proxies.

Thong will not do anything. He has already become rich my draining cash from insas and doing his own developments and business . For big development in bukit damansara he did with another partner. He has not interest in doing anything with insas when the board are muppets/puppets and he controls everything.

https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/709336 Not sure this is the first to change opinion on inari and others will follow or just someone low balling … definitely think insas should sell inari as enough profit . It could drop a lot …

This coming quarter end 31/3/2024 very interesting to check what will be the disposal gain on 10 million inari and 100 million M&A share.

Insas has sold sufficient amount of Inari and M & A shares to report a nice lovely EPS.

Thong is so desperate not to look like the failed investor he is that he will never sell the inari stake. Even if it costs insas shareholders 1 billion ringgit he does not care. His ego is more important

Sslee

Failed investor?

Those invested in Insas should know better many of those holding: Omesti, Hohup and etc were legacy holding from M&A margin finance and Insas credit and leasing pledged shares securities that somehow end up in Insas.

So are you also a failed investor for investing in Insas?

Sslee

Insas will always hold Inari share as controlling shareholder. Only on and off insas will trade some Inari share to make quarterly result look good.
