I pity the 12% foreign investors. Thought they can realised the NAV value but got trapped and now seeing the currency dropped. I think the lost in currency also cannot cover their gain in NAV (should it realise)

It is impossible for COL to dispose off all their stake in ICAP. They will need to face their clients directly after making tons of losses. They will keep on purchase for more shares in bad times in order to average the previous purchase price. Based on 2015's annual report, COL only holding 18.92 mil shares yet the outcome from voted by poll was about 20 mil. Which mean, if next year Mr Tan still pessimistic and do not utilize the cash pile. We will see another round of dispute against fund manager and COL.

why not?bought@1.60-1.80..now selling@2.2-2.80to gain currency exchange loss...let retail stock panic n crash...don think 260m is lot...when he made a mistake die die stubborn...poor shareholders!!

Posted by riskabsorber > 2015-09-25 12:19 | Report Abuse

COL still have chance to take over ICAP. Based on the total voters attended the 11th AGM was approximately 80 mil shares. Which mean out of 140 mil of total number of shares, still have 60 mil shares which did not vote for any party. Next year will have another round of drama.

This will boost up share price.
Divy is also OK.

Dear Friend,

On January 16th 2015 I highlighted the Value of AJIYA by MG9231 at Rm2.05

After 10 months AJIYA Has Surged a nice 60%. while ICap has gone down.

I think ICap has a good position now to invest its Cash Hoard.

One of the Most Promising share is KPSCB.

See my write up in KPSCB Forum Site.

See after 10 months it will also beat ICapbiz

Regards,

History teaches us that men never learn from history?

Yes and no.

Why yes and no?

Answer:

Because it is only 50% true.

True for gambling fools who never learn anything from history.

But for those who study history carefully they will learn to avoid the mistakes of the past.

If not for Ben Bernanke's QE 1, QE2 & QE 3 we are already in the Great Depression.

Since Ben was so afraid of a repeat of the Great Depression he opened wide the spigot and poured Fiat Money into the system.

THUS POSTPONING & POSTPONING THE GREAT DEPRESSION

To be continued

After Rm5 Trillions QE from Dragi there is another DOSE OF QE COMING SOON.

And 5 CENTRAL BANKS HAVE ALREADY CUT INTEREST RATES.

This is doing Great Damage to Cash.

UNDER THIS SCENARIO CASH IN THE BANK IS NOT SAFE.

PURCHASING POWER WILL BE ERODED BY MONEY PRINTING.

THE MIDDLE CLASS WILL NOW DESCEND INTO THE LOWER CLASS STATUS

IF YOU DON'T PUT MONEY INTO DEFENSIVE MODE OF BEATING INFLATION YOU ARE BOUND TO BE POORER AND POORER

Calvin Also Told All To Diversify Purchases

You Should Also Have Bought These Shares If You Have Followed Closely

1) PM Corp at 15 cents.
2) Ipmuda at 70 cents
3) MyEG at Rm2.00
4) Super Enterprize at Rm1.25 (This one taken private at Rm3.80)
5) Ajiya (This one needs no introduction.)
6) Jaks at 39 cents
7) Kulim at Rm2.50
8) CMSB at Rm4.70
9) Opcom at 60 cents
10) Jerasia at 45 cents.

It was Peter Lynch who said that we should diversify our investments into as many counters as possible (Peter Lynch's Magellan Fund rotated into over 2,000 counters.)

This is his philosophy:

If we bought into 10 counters with potential one or two might go bankrupt. But if only one of the selected counters is a 10 bagger then it is worth it all.

So in investment let our downside be taken care of first before expecting any upside. Losing 20% to 30% is alright if it is compensated by other counters reaping 100% to 200% gain.

However, if you don't study and simply dabble with gambling stocks it is far better that you just stay put with FD in the Bank or ICapbiz shares.

icaptal.biz @2.35 is deeply undervalued. With net cash of 1.86, you're paying 0.49 for the remainder portfolio worth 1.08! (NAV 2.94 - cash 1.86.) Value investors should take another look at this counter.

I had held most my stocks in icapital since 2007 & bought more when prices down to less than RM1.30 during 2008. Did buy some also after that.

Know what? My overall return was just about 30% at time i decided to dispose off in August this year.

I then put all my monies in Airasia when prices went down to below RM1 & disposed off all at RM1.30.... Buy sell within 2 months.

Then i put most into Gadang when prices were around RM1.4+ & still holding.

All i want to say is i respect ttb as good fund manager, but that did not translate into good return for my monies.

I bought Aim, Tongherr & Parkson based on the analysis from icapital.biz & made huge losses...

Now i choose to do it myself & hope get better return in future.

Talk about price transacted at discounted NTA, there are more than dozens of companies out there with price way below NTA. Choose wisely.

Cash rich company like Plenitude keeping huge huge cash + shorterm investment (451m) but having revenue of about 250m-300m annually & profits of about 80m every year for the PAST 10 YEARS!

High cash level does not necessary will bring growth & higher profits in coming years! A lot of companies proved that!

And the real fact is ICAPITAL has not been performing at all for the past 5 years!!!

Look at the chart yourself here:

TTB should have seen the change in consumer behaviour for China people in recent years & should have known Parkson will not do good with the same business model. But nothing was/is done (to warn in icapital.biz's newsletter or/and to disposed off under closed end fund)

The analysis from Icapital.biz website keep saying good for Parkson & the fact was the price dropped from RM5 to now about RM1. I see no upside but more downside with the floor is the limit.

Very very disappointed on this & that's why I gave up on ICapital.

The london guys must be the stupid one & should be regretting now, holding a big churn of icapital shares & find it hard to walk away as only very low transactions everyday.

Perhaps this is the only thing can make me laugh.

I did have high hope to have good return for my monies in ICapital but it turn out losing way behind to my investment in unit trust.

For existing shareowners, good luck & all the best.
