Prospects
For the financial year 2021, the Group reported a resilient performance mainly underpinned by electricity demand growth of 1.2%, consistent with the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 3.1%. The year proved to be a challenging year for the Group as it faced challenges in collection of electricity debtors and global increase in coal prices.
The economy is expected to remain on its recovery path supported by continued expansion in global and domestic demand. For the year 2022, the government is maintaining the country’s economic growth forecast of 5.5% to 6.5%. However, the effect of COVID-19 related factors and inflation may still impact the growth trajectory.
With the implementation of RP3 effective from 1st February 2022, the Group foresees a reasonable performance for the year 2022 while remaining cautious on high fuel prices and challenging economic outlook.
The Group will continue to take prudent measures in terms of its operational and financial requirements to ensure it remains resilient.

Tenaga needs to set aside RM20 billion for capital expenditure and another RM18 billion for operating expenditure over the next three years, and so the much reduced final dividend. It is still a sound long term investment.

Generation costs continues to be the largest cost component of the electricity tariff, where 65% of the tariff for RP3 is contributed by generation costs. Gas and coal, both at market price continues to be the main sources of fuel for the electricity generation for this period. Base coal price and gas price for RP3 period are USD79/MT and RM26/MMBtu based on 2-tier gas pricing.

The Government’s decision to implement the RP3 is a testament of the Government’s commitment to the IBR framework, which has been the pillar for the sustainability and stability of the electricity supply industry. It provides transparent regulatory framework, advocate cost efficiencies and ensure financial and operational sustainability of the system and the industry. This may result in fair and reasonable regulated financial returns for the regulated segment of TNB.

Through RP3 implementation under IBR, TNB commits to ensure reliable and continuous supply of electricity to our customers, maintaining the customer service level, and continue to give back to the Rakyat through our various corporate social programmes.

see how lo, I also don't want cut loss so fast here. but as a fundamental investor I consider consistence high div rate as part of this company's fundamental, so a drastic change of this is considered for me as change in fundamental of the company, which makes me revalue the company

SincereStock, you need to spend some time reading the entire report and not just the headline numbers. Input costs for this quarterly will be recouped over the current and next quarter, as seen by the announced increase in electricity rates for industrial and commercial customers.

@TreeTopView I am not talking about the EPS or PE part of the fundamental, but high div.

PE of this company is not that attractive anyway. and it's NTA discount also not too attractive.

I am mainly attracted here by it's status as blue chip and high div rate, but now it seems like the high div rate is longer something promised here
