Danny tan have consistently raise up its stake and have even opt to convert its 10 year 3% RCULS at conversion price 1.50, to boost its stake to 72% now. With tropicana degearing at tail end, pare down borrowing and reduce it gearing to below 0.3 x now, and boosting it free cash to about RM 1 billion, trop is now at much better balance sheet and financial strength. Trop may in upcoming q 3 result proposed interim divided. At least 4 sen to reward shareholder.

Trop current unbilled sale RM 3 billion already ensure next 3 year earning visibility, and the sale will just continue rolling as most of trop property are very sellable product, achieved very high take up rate...trop aman, trop metro, trop height, trop residence, Penang world city which trop have 55% stake.

With current share price still trading below RM 1.00, a price which is even lower than company own ESOS, lower than its previous right issue price 1.20, and much lower if compared to its previous private placement price at 1.70..... With much strength financially now, trop certainly afford to aggressively buyback from open market.

However, to avoid trigger take over code, trop only can buyback maximum 3% from open market to ensure public spread fulfill minimum 25%......of course, if Danny tan insist to go ahead, then he can just launch privatize or selective capital repayment to take over remaining 25% stake from public.

Danny has more than 72%. If your offshore fund comes, Danny put 10% into market. How much the offshore fund can afford.

TROPICANA Corp Bhd's founder and controlling shareholder, Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing retired as its Group Executive Vice Chairman and has relinquished his day-to-day management role in the group, effective June 18, 2015.

"I have turned 60 this year and after having dedicated more than three and a half decades of my life to the business, it’s timely to pass the baton to the new generation of leadership,"he said.

Tan founded the Group in 1992 and said he was very proud of Tropicana’s achievement today, being one of the top 10 property developers in Malaysia with a record revenue of close to RM2 billion and total assets over RM7.2 billion in FY2014.

“I will be handing over the day-to-day management of Tropicana to Group Chief Executive Officer Dato' Yau Kok Seng, and Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer Dato' Dickson Tan . ”said Tan.

Tan pointed out, both Dato’ Yau and Dato’ Dickson have been instrumental in formulating and leading the transformation journey of the Group. Together with the other board members and senior management team, he have full confidence that they can effectively lead Tropicana into greater heights.”

Tan assured all stakeholders and employees that will remain as the significant shareholder of Tropicana and stay committed to the Company

Tropicana Chairman Tan Sri Rastam bin Mohd Isa said that the board respects Tan Sri Dato’ Danny's decision to retire from an active corporate role in the company, they take comfort in the knowledge that they will continue to have Tan’s advice and guidance at all times, as they endeavour to take the Tropicana Group to a higher level and in its position as a premier property developer in Malaysia.”

The Changes in The Board

Dion Tan Yong Chien fill in as Executive Director replacing his sister, Diana Tan Sheik Ni and both effective from 18 June 2015.

Mr Dion Tan is the third son of Tan Sri Danny Tan. He obtained a Master of Science in Management with Information Systems and Innovation from London School of Economics, United Kingdom in 2012.

Mr Dion Tan was with Accenture, a global management and technology consulting firm, as a strategy consultant .

Besides , Ms Diana Tan Sheik Ni has stepped down as Executive Director of Tropicana, while Dato’ Francis Ng Tian Sang @ Ng Kek Chuan and Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Annuar bin Zaini have retired as Independent Non-Executive Directors of Tropicana.

Tropicana Corp Bhd is among the developers contributing to the change, with its RM7.2 billion Tropicana Metropark integrated mixed development. The 35.4ha development sits on prime freehold land in the Subang Hi-Tech Industrial Park and will have, among others, a 3.7ha central park and a new flyover linking it directly to the Federal Highway.

Tropicana, which is best known for its Tropicana Golf and Country Resort in Petaling Jaya, acquired the land in 2011 for RM385.5 million. It is investing close to RM200 million to build the park, flyover and other infrastructure to enhance the value of the development. The park is a large green oasis featuring a man-made lake, pedestrian promenade and a food and beverage strip for alfresco indulgence.

The pathways that weave through it are ideal for leisurely walk or jogging, and there is also a bicycle track. Tropicana Metropark will have five residential towers and four stages of commercial development that include a shopping mall, medical centre and entertainment area. Every building and unit at Tropicana Metro-park will have easy access to the park. The design concept for Tropicana Metropark was inspired by the world's most livable city, Melbourne, and its Yarra River with the holistic influences.

The development plan also adopts some international commercial features; hence visitors can experience what it is like on London's Oxford Street and the streets of Tokyo. Six years on, major developments are taking place, such as the construction of the central park which is almost completed, two residential projects, namely Paloma Serviced Apartment (Phase 2) and Paisley Serviced Apartment (Phase 3), and the building of the flyover.

The developer has completed and is in the process of handing over the keys to buyers for the first residential project, Pandora Serviced Residences or Phase 1. GEMS International School is set to open its doors in September to serve up to 2,400 students aged between 3 to 18 years old.
