It could have some Knee Jerk reaction if YTLP failed, but share price will well supported by company sbb. It YTLP success instead, it is bonus. As the capex if as much as RM12bilion over next 4 year, only 2000MW is ready in 2018-2019. Assuming 20:80 equity:debt financing, YTLP need to conserve as much RM 2.4bilion to be spend in next 4 year, which is about same amount of capex in 2010, when YTLP indicate that it need RM 2.5bilion to develop Yes broadband....resulting cutting down quarterly dividend for shareholder....If YTLP win 3b project, YTLP may force to stop sbb in order to conserve its cash for capex to develop 2000MW power plant again.

This is an open tender and by right it has to go to the lowest bid, all other requirements should be cleared before the first round of selection....

so if YTLP doesn't get project 3B:
1) FDI will lose confident in any open tender projects in Malaysia
2) As I mentioned earlier, EC will have to explain to the Sultan Johor

According to the Francis Yeoh in the latest AGM, Yes broadband's coverage is 85% completed in Penisular Malaysia.That means service is Rural Area should be good and be able to compete with big guns such as Maxis and Digi.
To all the forumers, please find out whether what he said is true?
To start the ball rolling, the Area of my home town- Rengam of Kluang is well connected and the broadband is reliable.

I had a business meeting with one of the GMs from YTL comm in 2010. I was surprised he told me their vision and competitors are Digi, Celcom and Maxis.... and I thought they were more at uMobile, xox, redtone or Tune mobile level....well after 3 to 4 years I can see YTL comm is getting more and more aggressive to target the big guys...

Hi Leek,
My thinking is that, if Yes broadband can get more users/customers in rural and semi rural areas, they can easily gets breakeven in their operations. Confidence is then will be built to get more customers in the urban areas and of course the competitions in urbans in an extraordinary income.
