It is in Yeoh's family best interest to see price in YTLP to drop if their goal is to privatise the company via a share-exchange scheme with YTL. Those with holding power need not be scared as the value will eventually go up, with or without acquisition.

Yeah.... sometime those privatization isn’t good for small holders.
Unless, we could top up at the very low pricing before its proposed privatize

But the worst scenario is francis yeoh is doing the same trick to privatise YTLP as he did to ytl cement and ytl-E.

Dun expect privatise is good for ikan bilis, if you look back the previous case, especially ytl-e, drop from 1.6x to 0.55, which is a company with steady leasing income, no debt, constant yearly dividend, you know what's happening.

If next week, you check bursa and realise that ytl been the one tat doing share buy back for this whole week drop, dun get excited, bursa rules stated a company only require 75% approval to kick start mandatory take over.

Based on 2017 annual report, over 55% of YTLP is owned by YTL and Yeoh's family. To achieve 75% acquisition approval, they still need 20%. Based on the latest price of 0.92, it is about RM1.45 billion that they need to buy in open market to achieve that 75% threshold.

To take YTLP private is possible but not an easy task.

This counter is politically linked.
Some are selling down to reduce exposure since GE is coming.
Earnings is recovering since Paka power plant had restarted.

Anyway, avoid it till the GE result is out. Then decide together with the latest quarter result.

You are right actually. Past elections ytl power was used like black sheep. But at the same time the selldown is huge. Have to be careful. My WB is toast. No hope, Only miracle can save it.

Im not technical pro, but based on the volume, for short term, if hv extra capital, just buy into ytl n let ytlp sit idle, or more agressively switch from ytlp to ytl..

Looks more promising this way to gain smtg.

Yup. Agreed with you.

YTL offers better stability and has better income diversification.
The company still have less than 50% exposure to YTLpowr and able to enjoy earnings from the double tracking Gemas project and HSR(just awarded).

Ytlpowr earnings will be bigger when the Attarat project had completed.

Currently for ytlp power contract only paka got extension with less margin at Paka in Malaysia market.

What worsen for Malaysia electricity market is so many companies venture into tis field but vf less advantages for IPP...

Yeah, Jordan n Indon sound promising, but this 2 power plants only start kick in from 2020-2021...whose know wat gonna happen?

I think nobody knows the rock bottom price, but with 2 new power plants on board, probably it will consume cash & higher debt, dividend might be affected as well, and this make investors to throw it at the moment.. short term pain, but long term gain, which happens usually..my thought.
