Very poor results, another problem of family run business. Bad investment decision in Singapore(should not do business with Singapore govt as they are too smart and always take advantage), just like our water sales to Singapore.....Another one is YES (should be No Communication Business). They should find way to dispose of these 2 businesses... Investors who bought shares for long run lost a lot of money.... I bought lately at below 70 sen just to get good dividend yield, and betting the price is bottomed at historical low and new business will see grow in profit next year, and see many of my friends lose a lot of money in this counter(be greedy when others are fearful...)

Posted by PaulNewman > 2019-11-26 19:07 | Report Abuse

This is an opportunity to add. This quarterly earnings is expected to be low and discounted into the price already. In Mid 2020, APCO will start its engine. From JAKS forum, a member said power companies will see their share price run north 6 months before the commencement of electricity sale. If and when APCO earnings start to reflect in financial statements, I don’t think YTLPOWER will remain a penny stock.

Yeah Singapore government always takes advantages of businessman. Not trust worthy. Will increase my holding if price drop below 65.

"beautiful results" afterall will have little impact on management and bod remuneration most likely, as they worked so hard. TP60.

Don't buy because of dividend. Just says you buy at 0.77 before declare dividend. You gets 5 cent dividend. But share drops to 0.70.still lost 2 cents. Buy share when management can generate profit. If not profitable, sooner or later all retaining profit will finish. Example : one guys from a rich family. He still can buy luxury car or things use heritage from parents even monthly income very low. Once he spent out all heritages from parents, everything over.that the reasons some very rich family become poor after 3 generation. Founder built fortune, son spend fortune, grandson - leftovers fortune from fathers...game over.

Company that declare dividend more then their EPS(YTL) not worth to invest. Most of the dividend go back to largest share holder. No much left to others.

must grab some. epf and sub smartlah. Prospects
Power generation (Contracted)
The Group has an 80% equity interest in PT Tanjung Jati Power Company (“TJPC”), an
independent power producer which is undertaking the development of Tanjung Jati A, a 2 x
660 megawatt coal-fired power project in Java, Indonesia. TJPC has a 30-year power purchase
agreement with PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned electric utility company, amended
and restated in December 2015 and March 2018. The project is currently in the development
stage and progress is underway towards achieving financial close.
The Group also has a 45% equity interest in Attarat Power Company (“APCO”), which is
developing a 554 megawatt oil shale fired power generation project in the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan. APCO has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (including construction
period of 3.5 years) with the National Electric Power Company (“NEPCO”), Jordan’s state-
owned utility, for the entire electrical capacity and energy of the power plant, with an option
for NEPCO to extend the power purchase agreement to 40 years (from the commercial
operation date of the project’s second unit). Construction has commenced on the project, with
operations scheduled to commence in mid-2020.
YTL Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. (“YTLPG”) commenced its operation on 1 September 2017
for the supply of 585MW of capacity from the existing facility in Paka for a term of 3 years 10
months, which will be expiring on 30 June 2021. YTLPG is expected to perform satisfactorily
as it operates under a Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”).
Multi utilities business (Merchant)
The electricity market in Singapore will remain competitive, driven by volatilities across global
markets and generation capacity oversupply in the wholesale electricity market. Despite the
current challenges, this segment will continue to focus on customer service and diversification
beyond the core business into integrated multi-utilities supply.

next year, just maintain 5sen, share price back to RM1 or above.. dividend yield still 5%. if ASEAN performs better next year and funds return to malaysia, ytlpower is one the attractive stock, power plants in malaysia, singapore and indonesia. :) from 69sen jump to Rm1 is normal, many stocks have doubled or tripled in price already.

2020 seen to be a better year for Malaysia's equity market
Arjuna Chandran Shankar

theedgemarkets.com

November 27, 2019 13:20 pm +08

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): Malaysia's equity market is forecasted to get better in 2020, riding on a strengthening Chinese renminbi.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Aberdeen Standard Investments' 2020 Market Outlook, Aberdeen Standard Islamic Investments (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd CEO Gerald Ambrose said the strengthening Chinese renminbi will result in stronger capital markets in Malaysia.

"The other conclusion we had today is that the semiconductor industry has hit a floor in October, and demand for 5G and new technology for mobile phones will be so strong next year that the IT manufacturing sector in Malaysia, in particular, has some catching up to do, and the outlook [is] very bright," said Ambrose.

He added that Malaysian bonds have had a good year in 2019, as they give a return significantly above inflation.

"If you look at some other parts of the world, you are getting a negative return," Ambrose remarked.

He said the oil and gas (O&G), semiconductor, banking, insurance and takaful sectors looked "attractive" moving forward.

Ambrose further said that if there is a downturn next year, there might be a need for the government to perform an economic stimulus.

He explained that large infrastructure projects will have a knock-on effect on the economy, hopefully leading to higher disposable income.

When it comes to foreign outflow, Ambrose said foreign shareholding could not feasibly get any lower and that a pickup in the ringgit will be beneficial for foreign investors coming back in.

"If there is a pickup in the renminbi, there will be a pickup in all ASEAN currencies, which will lead to an outperformance of ASEAN markets, and we haven't seen that in a long time. So I feel quite optimistic that foreigners will feel they have missed out and will come back in," he explained.

Multinational companies are now appearing to reduce their investment exposure to China's manufacturing sector and are moving to ASEAN, said Ambrose, highlighting the aluminium, O&G and IT industries in Malaysia as good destinations within ASEAN to redirect such investments to.

"I do think it is inevitable that funds will come back to ASEAN and Malaysia," he opined.

Avoid stock market if fears on your mind. Or your money is for emergency. If you are loaded, buy when the price is cheap. We cannot predict a bottom but we can surely knows when it's cheap. And with holding powers(3-5 years) you be rewarded in time. Goooooood luck.
