Upgrade to buy with a lower target price (TP) of RM1.02: We attended VS Industry Bhd’s briefing and came back feeling neutral on the group’s outlook. We reckon that the stock renders limited downside risk at this junction as the share price has factored in the negatives, for example, the declining orders from one of its key customers for the Malaysian operations which will adversely impact the group’s second half of financial year 2019 (2HFY19) earnings while potential order wins could lift sentiment towards the stock.


Hence, we upgrade our call on VS Industry to “buy” from “hold” with a revised TP of RM1.02 premised on favourable risk-reward.

Buy to keep for 2019, it shall be at least 1.20. For short term, the effect of Dyson reduction in orders remain impact significantly once QR is out and double digit reductions in earnings. New orders come in soonest will reduce impact of loss in earnings.

With VS establishments, they are the best choice for USA, Taiwan/China MNCs.

With the recent Huawei MWZ's case, DT is playing hardball with XI. CHN will get hard time from US in the trade negotiation. XI is boiling but nothing much he can do except with possible RMB & US debt. Anyway going to be a loss-loss situation. Companies outside CHN will benefit from this for the next 12 months. USA domestic ops costs too high.

With the current US-CHN Trade war and UK Brexit, companies in Asia (outside CHN) will gain, particularly for companies in ASEAN. Brands in the US and UK will look east-ward for new investments and business collaborations. 2019 is going to be an interesting year....

@tokti...bro...don't fear...for what i see it's almost stabilised at this price...limited Downside n that's the key...for Margin of Safety...the upside will take care of itself. Just look at VS the demand is there... liquidity is there...only now the sentiment is still weak...so buy on weakness...if further downside happen. Just be patient n discipline yourself. Main Clients are from the States and UK. One Client "D" recently announced to move HQ from UK to SG. SG's mfg ops cost is just too high. Which country is next in the list? Make your own assessment and decision. Good luck!
