CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd’s (CGS-CIMB Research) analyst Walter Aw’s noted that global glove buyers are keeping low inventory levels because of the declining ASPs.

He estimated that the current nitrile and natural latex ASPs stand at US$28 (RM118.44)-US$30 and US$23-US$25 per 1,000 pieces respectively, compared to preCovid-19 levels of US$22-US$24 and US$18-US$20.

“In our view, nitrile and latex ASPs will continue to decline, estimated to be a 3% to 5% decline monthly up until the first half of 2022 forecast (1H22F),” Aw said in a note yesterday.

Notably, certain glovemakers have highlighted plans to slow down their capacity expansion plans.

There will be the next mega omicron wave coming this january across the globe. But it will end just as fast as how it will spread. Africa omicrom cases has sort of peak. And daily cases will come crashing down. Omicron diwplacing the delta variant across the globe will aid our transition into endemic as omicron is relatively a mild variant. So dont hold gloves long.
