Watch out EDEN coming up and company made profit but the problem is that company didnt distribute any dividend for the common sotckholder ..why? Eden operate power plant but lossing money .. They also operate in food-based company , but lack of management..

It was doing well in early trading. Had thought there was going to be an upswing. But Hang Seng's poor performance spooked investors. Let's see how things go for Eden and also BSKL tomorrow.

The interesting thing about this transfer of shares among the family: they are priced at 0.36. How does one come about this valuation, by the way?

Majority/substantial shareholders pre-determined the transfer value here. Its usually a corporate play when its family owned/substantial holder to keep their loyalty. Think of it this way, i want Mat Cendana to be with me in this company, so i give him some of my stake to keep him happy and not any questions in i3investor.com site hehehe. Afterall, its my share, so i go to SC and make this request. Upon approval, it will be announced. This comes usually with high court permission too and without affected the market price, because its private placement. Will be taxed also by the govt anyway if corporate gain is announced.

KC Loh: Thanks for the explanation. This is a family-controlled company, with father, mother, daughter, son-in-law in the board of directors. Very cushy positions with great pay. Then again, it's *their* father's company, ya - I'd likely do the same if it were mine Heheh!

The only reason why I'm attracted (somewhat) to this counter is its NTA of 0.85... and it is selling at way below par. Its profits aren't anything to shout about. But at this price, I think it's worth a risk.

Mat, but just check out if its liquid in the market or not (high share tradings). if its not, high chances its just staying in the sideways for most of the time. all the best in your effort!

It's usually medium to cool (with cool more often with so-so volume). This is not a counter to contra. But I feel that if one is patient enough, a TP of 20% within a few months is achievable. To me, anything that is higher than the average trust fund is good enough.

a lot of times, family owned business even though listed, utilized the company as cash cow to provide posh jobs and security for own relatives/associates only. That is why they dont get much coverage from analysts and in many cases stagnant in movement.

there is nothing you can do, when the board of directors is controlled by patriach and they hold majority shares. you can never vote them out nor initiate no-confidence vote against patriach. Asian business is very much different from the west where cornerstone investors could vote you out thru proxy battles!

yeah, what hustle said is correct. I term these type of management irresponsible. Their chief aim should be helping all shareholders and not only themselves by enhancing the share value, but it seems they are only interested in taking the pie and eating it too! sad!

makan shark fin bukan tidak boleh bagilah shareholder dividend barulah orang boleh support.Index bursa sekarang sudah capai 1600++ , Eden masih 0.315 per share (ada logic kah ?)sudah ketinggalan index (jangkaan index 1600++ eden mesti catat lebih kurang 0.80++ sekira tidak mencapai kemajuaan lagi.. lebih baik tukar orang yang boleh berkhidmat untuk eden masa akan datang berjayalah eden)

Itu yang kecewa hal Eden ni. Ingatkan nak start upswing. Tapi macam bungapi, sebentar aje. Lepas tu diam balik. Dia punya NTA tinggi jugak, par 1.00. Business pun nampak okay, ada power division. Tapi expenses banyak bayar ke anak-beranak, directos' fees berjuta.

Mat Cendana.. kata u memang saya sokong..orang ada power division untung banyak dan setiap tahun ada dividend(tetapi bagi eden kita tidak tau untung atau rugi).Expenses berjuta bukan tidak boleh diambil.. apa salah nya? bagilah setikit dividend kepada shareholder sekira ada untung (jangan makan habis)..Saya nak tau berapa kali eden bagi dividend semenjak listed di bursa? sekira tidak pernah bagi kepada shareholder.. mana nak support saham eden???

Eden ni par 1.00, Net Tangible Asset 0.85. Tapi harga 0.295 saja. Business agak ok; ada power-generating di Kelantan dan Sabah. Apasal slow sangat management ni? Agaknya sudah puas hati anak-beranak dapat gaji director berjuta. Fikir lah juga ke shareholders. Business ada potensi tapi kena lah aktif supaya orang ada interest tentang share company.

eden bukan 0.295 lagipada hari in 11/9/2012 jatuh paras 0.285 complainkuat takut nanti jatuh lagi teruk .. sekira director tidak support nanti akan jatuh sampai paras terendah..shareholder bila nampak jatuh sampai paras rendah ..takut eden masuk P17? pada masa itu shareholder akan jual dan director ketawa beli harga yang murah..kah kah kah .. tapi cara begitu tidak baik image company akan terjejas..

Ini anak-beranak punya company - bapa, mak, anak, menantu and God knows how many cousins and nephews in cushy positions drawing very comfortable director's fees and salaries. Eden has the assets and reasonably okay revenue. But a lot of it goes to running expenditure, not leaving much for shareholders. The only way it will go up if when there's news/rumours (doesn't really matter which) of some other party wanting to come in or something similar.
