Malaysia raises Oct crude price factor to US$4.35/bbl — document

SINGAPORE (Oct 11): Malaysian state oil firm Petronas has set the October price factor for Malaysian Crude Oil (MCO) at US$4.35 a barrel, up 45 cents from the previous month, according to a company document reviewed by Reuters on Thursday.

The monthly price factor is added to the average of Platts' dated Brent prices published in the month to derive the Malaysian crude official selling price (OSP).

Petronas changed its OSP mechanism from January 2017, basing its benchmark price on a basket of four Malaysian crude grades: Labuan, Miri Light, Kikeh and Kimanis.

Lay Hong production run for export revenue has begun.

Export revenue have been encouraging with demand outsizing its production, currently running at 100% production.

Full export revenue is projected to be 50% of current revenue, and 100% of current revenue in early 2020 when Tokyo Olympics begins.

Price only goes up peak in Sept, that means the quarter ended 30 Sept will be bad too, because of high feed costs (management had said it in AGM).

Get prepared on that bad result & never expect too optimistic.

The increase of egg price is sufficient to offset the rise in feed costs. The coming quarter result is definitely much better than previous quarter.

The major issue in previous quarter is low egg price while production of egg improved tremendously since 4Q 2018. Couple with the rising of feed cost, the layer segment is actually making lost .

This coming quarter is going to recover

Rising of egg price will be partially offset by rising of feed cost, but don’t too optimistic, there might have loss of disposal of chicken due to bird flu. Maybe the result a little bit better than last quarter

Frankly, if with increased current good level of egg price, and moderate increase of feed cost, the result is only a bit better than last quarter? If this is the case, it is better for us to discard all the position in layhong.

But don't think this will be the way. How much the influence of bird flu? Is a big impact? Is that really?
