Here is the Weather Forecast for SE...

The FBMKLCI Index tumbled yesterday in tandem with rising pressure across regional markets following geopolitical tension over US Senate Speaker Pelosi’s potential visit to Taiwan this week. The benchmark index tumbled 7.02pts, or 0.47%, to end the day at 1,495.05. KLCI is still red today after fantastic starts on Monday. Technically, we expect the FBMKLCI Index to range between 1,470 and 1,510pts today, with supports at 1,450pts and 1,430pts.

The FKLI managed to climb further yesterday despite weaker external sentiment. The index fell short to hit our immediate resistance at 1,506 yet the ongoing momentum remains elevated. Backed by a bullish reading in both Stochastic and MACD, the index has a decent chance to take out the upper resistance level ahead.

PNB stuck in SAP long time de, they can't sell their stakes...but it does raise eyes brown, why increase stakes? SAP a PN17 and unable to pay debt....even they succeed in the haircut, but don't expect any dividend untill 2024...MoF announcement soon?

Why PNB invested again here just to averaged down and wrested retailers' money? Who are mostly Malaysian probably... It is better they wrestle elsewhere..

Putra Business School Assoc Prof Dr Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff believes should the fund manager decide to keep its purse strings tight, it can withstand the loss from its investment in the O&G support services provider as Sapura investment accounts for less than 1% of its assets under management (AUM).

3 billion is a big amount, PNB never said it is small amount. But it is withstand the loss because it only represent 1% of PNB portfolio.

The problem is if PNB loss the 3 billion to rescue SAP, who is accountable why use GLC Fund to bailout SAP.

PNB average 10 billion net profit per year, in the event SAP bankruptcy, the dritribution for that year will be impacted. Than why using Bumi saving to bailout SAP..

Gov will not let SAP down, rescue plan definitely is around corner ...

2-year contract extension for Sapura Esmeralda. Sapura Energy’s JV company has been awarded with a 2-year extension, valued at USD130m (c.MYR580m) by Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) for the provision of services and charter of PLSV Sapura Esmeralda. The implied daily charter rates (DCR) of USD178k/day appears to be higher than the rates of Sapura Diamante and Sapura Topazio, which have been awarded 3.5-year contracts by Petrobras.
Lower charter rates. Overall, we are positive on the contract win as it provides a 2-year earnings visibility for this vessel. Recall that Sapura Esmeralda was under an 8-year firm charter contract with another 8-year extension option. The original DCR was as high as USD250k/day. However, we understand that Petrobras has slashed the rates several times in the past few years. Therefore, we estimate that the new DCR is 10-15% lower than the most recent rates prior to the expiry of the firm contract. Subsequent to this new contract, the next PLSV that is due for expiry is Sapura Onix in 3QCY23, followed by Sapura Jade in 1QCY24.

Maintain our estimates.
Recall that all six vessels have operated in Brazil for Petrobras in 1QFY23 with average utilisation of 94.8%. The share of profit from these vessels was c.MYR40m in 1QFY23. Assuming net margin of 10%, this contract is likely to contribute net earnings of MYR15m pa. Despite the contract win, we maintain our losses estimates, with the anticipation of a continuous drag by other segments.

Our SOP-based TP is kept at MYR0.02, assuming 20% of total debt was converted to equity, based on a conversion price of MYR0.10/share. Our share base is enlarged by 21.4bn or 1.2x. Our TP also includes a 6% discount, based on Sapura Energy’s ESG score of 2.7. Upside risks: Better- than-expected project execution and stronger-than-expected contract flows.

Under the restructure plan with the 10 lender to extend 7 years, PNB committed not to sell it's stakes....

If gov not step in...how SAP can pay dividends, only 3-4 billion backlog for 23 financial year, let alone 30-40% are legacy contract which is making loss...India losing contract almost certain drag to next year...

PNB will loss all and pay tiny if gov not step in.

Many Uncles want to get rich too, or at least be comfortable. The good news is that you can become a millionaire investing just RM 500-RM 1,000 a month, and a multi-millionaire investing RM 1,000-RM2,500 a month.

The bad news is that most people fail at investing. Even some highly super goreng investors fail, due to human nature to believe in HLB 1 sen Target price.

Lately, Mabel has been sharing about her investment in 3 Turnaround Companies, SE, SD and Dnex. Usually Mabel used her paid subscription Screener to select companies. For this exercise Mabel is using one of the stock-analysis platform available in the market. It helps Mabel with algorithm calculation to assess a company. What is does it gives a Score number representing the business performance of the company over the last 10 years on a scale from 1 to 10.

The Business Performance includes Earnings, Free Cashflows, Return on Equity, Net Profit Margin, Interest Coverage and Dividends. You can also decide other financial ratios as you please. The higher the score, the better the company. Buffet Business School recommendation is to invest in company which has the scored above 7 to make a viable Business Investment.

Based on this recommendation all the above companies currently does not meet Warren Buffett Requirements. Right now these companies is like Tiger Woods who fail to meet the cut in the recent British Open. Given time it will be a great company.

This is one of the reason Mabel gives these companies 2-3 years to put their act together. However if you invest in these companies in 2-3 years’ time , you will not get it at current dirt-cheap prices. Hence it’s a balancing act...
