Some article wrote Krono is using old and low end technology - tape storage.
Nowadays, the common data storage should be SSD or HHD.
Any comments about this? As it may impact the revenue growth.

HDD vs SDD can google details and many support the idea will co-exist together due to cost and design

You can see now laptop with SDD built in but use HDD as storage. Faster laptop speed but reliable and cheaper storage cost.

Yipman, Krono dont sell storage disk. they provide data management ie backup. go download prospectus and read through the business model.

KC Teh, Krono is doing data management for client, definitely will require data storage.
I am not saying Krono is selling storage disk but they are using low end data storage with tape hardware which is going to be obsolete.

Good result for Q1. Over the years, Q1 has been the slowest amongst the quarters. Amidst of the volatalities, Krono can still deliver such a good result. Bravo.
Now thinking about when the newly acquired companies in phillipines will start contributing.. probably next quarter will start showing then..
EDM is a steady business, will not see any profit plunge or surge, even during trade war. Good for investors looking for certainty.

Yipman, we knew its EDM but no idea why you mean abt tape storage on EDM. Let me brief history a bit.

My first PC was using Pentium MMX 166mhz with Quantum HDD 3.2gb and that was 20 yrs ago. Id never heard tape storage on a PC or servers. The only tape storage we used was 1.44mb floppy disk which 90s generation never seen. It can save abt 10pages of word file and if it bigger you need 2 or 3 of them. Thats why Krono acquired Quantum so they can have access to hardware.

My 1st handycam was a sony. It uses Video 8 tape can record for few hours with normal quality. My 2nd was a JVC MiniDV uses DV Tape with digital quality and record for few hours too. My final video recorder was a JVC with 30gb HDD can record digital up to 14 hours. Then come mobile phone with camera with video recording but i still use my JVC HDD since it still can record longer than any device including my new Canon DSLR which requires memory card.

I never met a tape storage on PC so i dont think EDM relate to it which requires bigger space.

FYI, i still have the 3 video recorder until now : )

Most data storage place store their core data in terms of magnetic tape, not HDD, not SSD, no matter how the technology advance, magnetic tape has its benefits on data storage, those who not understand how its work, will think it is obsolete.

try playing back a cassette 10 years ago, if you have both the device and the tape, most probably it will still works.

A HDD on the other hand, will hardly last for 10 years, especially the olds one, is your computer still using a 10 year hard disk? definitely it has broken down at some point of time.

not really .... the additional 6 million of profit from sanz solution will be divided in following 3 quarters only . most probably 2 millions per quarter for following quarters of 2019 as the profit was in hte first QR of FY2019. And that is not include Quantum china profit yet
