tsy88/Dunknow: no one can tell how long the KLSE volatility can last. It could take a while for the market to stabilize. The low oil price will impact either way on the economy. Some sectors will benefit while others may suffer. So, this is the period where the whole market re-adjust to this new scenario and find a new footing under the current changed environment of low oil price. The stock market is also undergoing a re-adjustment period and is not helped by the fact that the market is correcting by more than 10 points on most days. This has consequences on margin calls and even forced selling. However, there could be opportunities in the market as many stocks have come down in prices and are now heading to a more reasonable level of valuation. But do be cautious as we are not out of the woods yet.
Dear TCB... can help me check on BTM? Is it at oversold position already? And if there is a technical rebound would you roughly know the TP? Hope to sell off on rebound. Thanks!
Hi ProfitMan,appreciate your view & advices. You know,it's so generous of you to share this, not only to me/tsy88 but to all forummer here.At this junction,it's seem like the downtrend is so strong & we just have to be very cautious & those who's still trade,DICIPLINE is the key words,as you always said! Thanks again,ProfitMan...hope the second half of this month will be green green green........cheerrrr
Yes it is in an oversold position but do note that in a bearish market, oversold may not be very meaningful. It has broken down from its strong support at 0.20 as well as its support base at 0.18. Any technical rebound would confront the gap resistance of 0.175/0.18 but the stronger resistance lie at 0.20. You may use these levels as guides. If it trends lower, the next TP will be at 0.11.
Profitman -just saw your posting. Thanks for your advice and views and noted. No doubt this is a changed scenario. Some valuations are so attractive and you now get opportunities to buy at the low end. Hopefully we do not see a prolonged correction and we do not face an OIL CRISIS!
good morning tsy88....yeah,it's an opportunities to collect, but i guess with current market condition / losses, not many are willing or have the courage to buy...happy trading sis!
Dunknow - good morning. Just woke up! Will be at home monitoring from my tablet. Can slowly buy. Wait for dips to buy and do not chase. Think best strategy is sell into strength and buy on dips. Have a nice Friday and happy trading.
Dunknow - good morning. You are very early! Aha, your daughter is your alarm! Just came back from breakfast. You too have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones.
Dunknow - did not know you are working on a Saturday. I bought Ksl at quite high at 4.35 after reading AT's write up and when it went down to the 1st support at 4.35! Seems warrant also entitled to bonus 1 for 1. May get some warrants next as it is cheaper.
Dear TCB,may I know if the previous TA still applicable after one respected counter drop below the support line & bounce back to the support line in few days later…example is XXX company stop loss is 1.120 & it drop to 1.080…let say 2 days later it bounce back to 1.130,so the previous TA reading still applicable?do we need to see the volume or other criteria?
tsy88,it's alternate working saturday….yes,Alpha Trader did very well in his writing on KSL…sometimes, there's some forummer attacking him badly (if you look at his counter's forum),which I don't think it's appropriate as there's no holy-grail in stock market…for AT counter,it's more on mid-term investment...don't worried on your holding of KSL,i think it will surely bounce back once KLCI sentiment improve...yeah,ksl-wa look good but it fell to 2.560 where stop loss is 2.660,i want to enter, but since it's below stop loss,I am wonder whether it's ok to go in...as AT saying in his blogs,he did mention on ksl-cb...but I am worried on the volume & the TA or other criteria to enter ksl-cb
Dunknow, under such circumstances, we usually re-assess the TA again. 1.08 could be the new support level. Yes, we do need to re-establish the support and resistance level and along with it, re-assess the volume and other criteria. If a stock has bounced back to 1.13, it could be a technical rebound and upon further weakness, the stock can go back down to 1.08 again. Or it can also be a recovery in the stock. So, in a volatile market, the TA needs to be constantly reviewed. Changes in the stock market climate can render the previous TA readings invalid.
hi,profitman.....happy weekend to you... Ok,now I understand well....i had been looking for some counter, which actually violated the stop loss level such as Pelikan,ksl-wa....I still remember that your explaination on the stop loss violation, therefore I dare not touch those counter....thanks again for your kind & generous advises....
Some consolidation after hitting high at $0.855 on 24/11. The price may be volatile with the range of $0.655 and $0.715. If break above $0.715, may further test $0.78 and strong resistance at $0.855. If break below the support at $0.655, it may test stronger support at $0.59. Cut loss if $0.59 is violated.
Dunknow - good morning. Thank you for your kind words. From Matrixcool's latest update, Ksl broke down from the triangle and does not look good. I am going to cut loss on it and buy when it goes ex on 17th December. Probably our market will stage a rebound this week as Friday afternoon most stocks rebounded. Dow going to gouch 18,000 mark. Hope you have a prosperous Monday.
Dunknow - good morning. Cut loss on Ksl at quite good a price yesterday luckily. Today our Klci index will surely bleed as Dow down by triple digit. Good opportunity to buy! Happy trading!!
Stage 4 of Market Cycle which is Bearish.. Trading in Downward Trend Line. Gapped down and broke the support line at $0.585 on 1/12. The support at $0.52 has yet to confirm. If break below $0.52 may further test $0.505 as stronger support. Any rebound will further test $0.54 and $0.56.
hi tcb sifus..... may i know whether u all still hold stock or did u all turn to hold cash ady? beside that, what is trading strategy during present volatile market situation?
jasonor - during volatile times like this, it is best to be conservative and either hold all in cash or majority in cash. There are still shifting dynamics in the economic environment but you can expect low oil price to be the mainstay in the short term to medium term.
The trading strategy can vary from individual to individual. Some may like to accumulate stocks that has been heavily sold down in which case you will need to have a medium to long term outlook on the stock as well as holding power. The aggressive high risk traders, may want to trade the dips and ups of the stocks and there also those who trade the technical rebound of stocks. This can be a high risk trade that requires strict discipline and the need to take quick profits or losses. Then with the conservative traders, holding cash would be the ideal strategy to wait out the volatile period.
I am more inclined to the conservative approach as the market sentiment is very weak and bearish. Any upside is limited due to the prevailing fear factor amongst investors where any increase in price will be subjected to profit taking or loss cutting. On the flip side, the depressed prices may also offer an opportunity for investors to accumulate some stocks in which case I would strongly advocate some research into the company's growth prospects and its fundamentals before jumping in as well as a technical analysis for potential entry points.
ya, you're rite. thanks profitman, for the sharing n advice.. really appreciates it.. :D and all the best to all traders/investors here. hope everything will be ok soon :)
Good morning, profitman....appreciate your view on this....current situation is so weak that which remind me of 1998 crash....still holding some stock, although has been either release capital or cut loss....it seem likes the bear is getting stronger each day, while the bull is resting like no tmr ; ( I read an articles stated that if we have the holding power for at least 5 years, it should be able weather any crash and it might b better as the company able to sustain during crash...do u agree in this, profitman bro?thanks
