Yea, pity him. Had to answer all the tough questions during the AGM. If you are observant you would have noticed the CFO wasn't convinced of whatever he presented. Looked like he was just reading from script.
Not many peoplepeople can stand the stress. Finance going down and investors questioning...

SAS market cap is somewhere between 120 to 140 millions.
The highest yearly revenue is around 90millions.
In an interview earlier this month, SAS MD revealed that their inventories are 69 million and trade receivables 62 millions.
You can view the video on this forum if you click on the headlines.
Is this healthy? Those who runs a business will know... shh...

I hv a friend who is running a book store. As you know, people talk and nothing can be hidden these days.
He also said unsold books returned to SAS were not given CN even after more than 6 months causing a cash flow problem, as he can't order new books.
This could be a precautious step by SAS to 'beautify' the qtr report, to lower the inventories and to improve the cash flow.
Do your research, don't take what I say.

Hi powerinvestor, I think it will be 0.10 soon. There are news about retrenchment, about 20%of the workforce. Once SAS core staff starting to leave, they will lose their content creators.

When the quarter result was out, i predicted it will be 0.50 people laughed at me.
Then when more news (eg epf dumping, M&A failed, increased borrowings, increased inventories, dropped margins) I predicted 0.30 and people laughed at me.
Let's see who are the sochais

Jeffyteck, thanks for the summary. All these point to one thing, cash flow problem.
Lower revenue
Lower margin
Increased inventories
Increased receivables
Increased borrowings
Increased loan interest repayment
I think it will drop further. Honestly I dont think it's worth the market cap now

Hahaha, why the MD can't talk smoothly. SO "CONVINCING"
Sorry, I'm not buying your pitch.
From day 1 until now, still talking about learning centre, and after SO many years, 'still in the pipe line'.
'Unanticipated drop in sales' as the reason of loss. Pls bear in mind that SAS paid Mr Law En Tzer RM 9,400,000.00, the son of the MD, to purchase 30% stake of sanjung unggul sdn bhd.
It's not about government policies but bad management!
Do you believe him?

SAS is not the no 2 TB publisher in malaysia. SAS tendered for 34 Textbooks last year only 4 were successful.
If SAS is no 2, what about pelangi, rina, karangkraf, uma publication, aras mega and many more? Each of them hv more txtbook than SAS. You can view this from the government KPM web.

The mkt cap used to be 400mil, but now only left 184 mil.
Haha if buy now and it drops to 0.30 guess how many nights will you cry.
The question is, do you think this is the very bottom of the valley, yet?
2018-02-13 22:42 | Report Abuse
Queue at 0.40? Be careful bro
My prediction is that it will touch 0.30 soon. From what I see, it is a tough year for SAS ahead. Up till now, there is no effective plan to counter the threat of other digital competitors e.g. fullamark, Khan academy, astro etc
Government policy of no workbook has not changed. Year 1 to 3 no workbook allowed, year 4 to 6 only 1 workbook for core subjects. I predict a much lower revenue. If you ever pass by SAS, you can see hundreds of pallets of books at the side (opposite the factories) waiting to be disposed.
Also, SAS needs to pay up its RM15 million loan.
Don't just take what I say. Do your own research.

Putting your money in SAS is like sitting on needles, it's a PAIN in the arse..
2018-01-26 08:12 | Report Abuse
I don't understand why some ppl are happy that the MD and epf are buying.
Small timers like us bought at a price much higher than the price now and were forced to sell due to extremely low dividend and share price plunged about 50%.
And the MD started collecting at low price.
Effectively, we donated 50% of our investment to SAS, and these goes into epf and the MD s pocket.

No I don't think so. Quick a weak outlook from the AGM. I think the slide is unstoppable.

Wah powerinvestor, you really power, more terror than me.
MD of SAS has been very active these few days, buy buy buy, and EPF sell sell sell
2017-11-29 20:07 | Report Abuse
Excellent point, EPF sold and bought GADANG again.
BUT EPF sold SAS continuously and DIDNT BUY SAS again.
Definitely we should invest based on informed reasons. So the question that we ought to ask is: "What is the MD of SAS doing with your money?"
These few days someone is working very hard and spending a lot to bUy all the disposed shares. If you are so confident in your own company, why not let the market value it? Why the rush in absorbing near to 3 million shares? Worried that EPF will dispose further?

Thanks for the complement, middlefinger.

July 2017, SAS paid RM9,400,000.00 in cash to Law En Tzer to purchase 30% of sanjung unggul sdn bhd. Coincidentally, Law En Tzer is a family member of the Managing director of SAS Mr Law King Hui.
The lastest info that I received is: Law En Tzer is working at SAS.
I have more and more question marks in my mind.
1. What is the rationale of paying RM9,400,000.00 to Law En Tzer? When Law EN Tzer is actually a staff at SAS? Is it because of the family relationship that he shares with the MD?
2. What measures have taken place before the board allowed for RM9,400,000 to be paid to Law En Tzer? SAS borrowed RM 15,000,000 from bank in the last financial year ended Aug 2017. Why borrow money to purchase 30% of a company? Why buy when you don't have the money? Is it so urgent, when the company actually belongs to your family member?
3. Why purchase sanjung unggul sdn bhd, when the revenue of this company keeps dropping?

It depends on your wisdom steph.
I predict a worse next Q result.
Just last month, the ministry of education is strictly enforcing the ruling of NO buku kerja for year 1 to year 3. This will lead to the disposal of ALL the reprinted buku kerja for all the subjects by SAS. News link:
https://www.google.com/amp/www.astroawani.com/berita-malaysia/guru-besar-guru-berdepan-tindakan-tegas-157613%3famp=1
From what I know, the usual practice is publishing company like SAS will get ready the buku kerja for 2018 as early as August and September in the preceding year. An abrupt announcement by the ministry of education followed by a stern warning to all the school heads will definitely dampen SAS buku kerja sales.
Also, bearing in mind that SAS has acquired sanjung unggul, which owns the malaya press, which is a SJKC buku kerja publisher.
Means now this announcement is a double blow for SAS.
Bad sales for SAS sdn bhd
Bad sales for the malaya press sdn bhd
I cant imagine how bad the effect will be. But looking at the current situation, 2 more days before school holidays, its not likely that the ministry will change its mind.

Has it stopped?
Wait until people like supersteph sell hers. It will plung even further.
I'm wondering why so many people invested in this company without having first conducted a careful and thorough research.
I have looked at SAS MLM scheme, it uses peer influence to push it's product. Many of its sales rep are partimers, ranging from parents, post spm students to hawkers.
I mean, if you want to reach out to the masses, you have other ways to do so. Train your people well.
While I was waiting for my son another parent tried to sell SAS digital product to me. But when I told her about the online free resources, like khan Academy, she got a shock.
Why pay for something more inferior when you can get www.khanacademy.org for free?
