He is a Fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales) and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (United Kingdom). He is also a member of The Malaysian Insitute of Accountants and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. He is also a Council member of The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He has many years of working experience in the fields of accounting, audit, treasury and financial management. He started his career in London in 1973 and worked for more than five years in chartered accounting firms in London including two years with Moore Stephens & Co. Subsequently, he was with Price Waterhouse, Singapore from 1979 to 1982. Prior to joining Berjaya Group of Companies in 1987, he served as a Group Finance Manager in UMW Holdings Berhad and Group Treasurer in Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd.
