YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng received his tertiary education in Australia, where he earned his Bachelor degree in Economics from Monash University and by 1983, he was already a qualified professional accountant.
Working Experience
Presently, YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng has been serving as the Chief Minister of Penang as well as holds the position of Secretary General of Democratic Action Party (DAP).

He started his career as a Senior Executive at a local bank after his graduation. In 1986, he contested and won the Kota Melaka Parlimentary seat. He was the Member of Parliament for Kota Melaka for three terms from 1986 until 1999. He was then appointed as the DAP, Socialist Youth Chairman in 1989 and in 1992, he was elected to the position. In 1995, he was elected as the DAP Deputy Secretary General and in 2004 he was elected as the DAP Secretary General of DAP.
