En Haniff Bin Dato' Mahmood is a member of BUMITRA, an association involved in the development of Bumiputra's involvement in the travel industry. He is also the Executive Chairman of Galactec Resources Sdn Bhd, a leading telecommunication company. He has assisted the company to develop-engineering capabilities resulting in significant cost saving for both the client and the company.

He is also involved in the aqua-farming sector in the area of management and strategic planning for 4 years. He brought about the joint venture of Malaysian Government with a local bio-tech company and contributed to the improved yield to an aquaculture project in the Northern region of the country.

He is also actively involved in recreational sports, whereby he successfully introduced the game of paintball to Malaysians and Malaysia to the world at large as a paintball hub of Asia. In addition, he was also involved in organizing major international paintball events .
