Chin Keat Chyuan

KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): KPJ Healthcare Bhd has appointed Chin Keat Chyuan as its new president and managing director, effective from Sept 1, 2023.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the private healthcare provider said Chin brings a wealth of experience with over two decades at Johnson & Johnson and an exemplary track record to the role.

He has held significant roles throughout his career, swiftly ascending from product specialist to managing director for Malaysia and Brunei.

Chin's strategic guidance has resulted in turning around businesses, arresting declines, and yielding significant market share gains, particularly in the hospital, consumer and vision care sectors.

“His appointment represents a significant step in our journey towards redefining the healthcare ecosystem. His deep industry knowledge, proven leadership and commitment to innovation make him the ideal leader to steer KPJ Healthcare to the next level,” said chairman of KPJ Healthcare Datuk Md Arif Mahmood.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Chin was also the former president of the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA) and a member of the Board of Governors with the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce.

He holds first-class honours in Biochemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and an MBA with Merit from the University of Nottingham's business school.

KPJ shares closed 1 sen lower or 0.89% at RM1.11, valuing the healthcare group at RM5.01 billion.
