KUALA LUMPUR (July 13): After joining printing and packaging services provider Computer Forms (M) Bhd's board as its independent and non-executive director last Tuesday (July 4), Datuk Rahim Supoh has also been appointed to the same post in medical devices and laundry equipment supplier BCM Alliance Bhd.

The appointment of Rahim, 64, will take immediate effect, according to BCM Alliance's filing on Wednesday (July 12).

He also serves as a director of ACE Money Exchange Sdn Bhd, independent director of ACE Investment Bank Ltd, director of Timbunan Pelangi (M) Sdn Bhd and Nik Hussain Holdings Sdn Bhd, as well as an adviser to Auto Mastercop Sdn Bhd’s board.

ACE Money Exchange is 25%-owned by ACE Credit (M) Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACE Holdings Sdn Bhd, while ACE Investment Bank Ltd is an investment bank licensed under the Labuan Financial Services Authority, established by ACE Holdings.

“Rahim's career spans over 40 years across numerous industries that include banking and finance, transport operation, mechanical and electrical, automobile, trading, telecommunication, construction and landscape, property development and foreign currency exchange,” said BCM Alliance.

For the first quarter ended March 31, 2023 (1QFY2023), BCM Alliance’s net loss narrowed to RM2.35 million from RM16.82 million last year, while revenue dropped to RM21.49 million from RM22.6 million, mainly due to a decrease in revenue contribution from its medical devices, healthcare products and health food and beverage businesses.

Shares in BCM Alliance closed unchanged at 1.5 sen on Wednesday (July 12), giving the company a market capitalisation of RM22.88 million.
