TO prove many naysayers wrong that its business has come to a stand-still, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has embarked on a virtual road show of its information technology (IT) prowess to convey the message that it is business as usual (BAU) for the company even as it continues to resolve the numerous odds at its corporate front.

Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has embarked on a virtual road show that showcases its information technology (IT) prowess in the oil & gas (O&G) sector.

Themed Unlocking New Boundaries with IR 4.0, the global integrated O&G outfit said it has proactively been incorporating IT as part of its core business since the arrival of Industrial Revolution 4.0 where engineering services has become more frequently intertwined with IT solutions.

“Therefore, even before COVID-19 became a global outbreak, Serba Dinamik IT Solutions Sdn Bhd (SDIT), a subsidiary of the Serba Dinamik group, has been deploying XR (X-Reality) technology globally,” the company said.

“Through the corporate partnership with Microsoft, SDIT is able to tap into the MR (mixed reality) innovation rapidly thus producing key products such as O&G technical training in XR.”

Deployable on the unique HoloLens device, users are able to conduct the training in a semi-virtual manner where they can make hand gestures to interact with a digital twin form of the physical O&G equipment such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressor, gas turbines, etc).

Additionally, SDIT also developed VR (virtual reality) technology for health, safety and environment (HSE) training such as working at height, confined space, rigging and slinging.

Key projects by technical application of XR in its O&G industry are the Pertamina HSE VR Centre and remote assistance with PETRONAS, to name a few projects.

Another impressive piece of innovation rolled out by SDIT is the D-Virtual Expo (DVE) which serves as a platform to run highly immersive virtual conference, exhibition, mall and product launches, among others.

Virtual Reality HSE Training

Compatible with VR, users can experience a 360-degree view of the mall to give the enhanced excitement of participating in online event.

Launched in 2020, SDIT said DVE has already garnered huge tractions and demands by hosting key events such as MARA e-Jana Niaga, ESPC Mall, the upcoming first International Architectural Education Exhibition & Conference with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) and the upcoming first ever online-merge-offline Malaysia E-Sports Summit 2021 with the Malaysia E-Sports Federation and partners.

Elsewhere, SDIT has also positioned its D-Virtual Park (DVP) as a total virtual reality and hologram theme park that offers wide range of exhilarating rides in VR as well as a unique hologram theater to provide hyper immersive entertainment.

At its DVP Kota Samarahan, SDIT said it provides D-Arena Esports as an Esport facility and development hub along with innovation lab for start-ups.

“The innovation lab aims to incubate and accelerate niche technology startups by bringing them onboard with start-up growth programmes,” noted SDIT. The overall effort to push DVP as the technology hub in Kota Samarahan is in tandem with the Sarawak State Government digitalisation roadmap.” – July 4, 2021
