PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry hopes the 2023 Budget will provide teachers nationwide with laptops and other devices.

Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said teachers are one of the most important components of the country's digital transformation.

"We see that other civil servants are provided with workstations. They have laptops and devices in the office.

"However, no laptop or device is given to teachers, apart from a workstation.  

"So we hope our wish list is considered," he told a press conference after attending 'Majlis Wadah Aspirasi Menteri Kanan Pendidikan', here, today.

Radzi also hoped that the allocation for the Integrated Special Education Programme would be increased.

"We want our children who come out of the system to be independent.

"What's more important is that parents are also happy to see that their children can stand on their own feet."
