KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal and the five Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) members of Parliament who declared their support for the unity government, have yet to receive any show-cause letters following the constitutional amendment made by the party earlier this month.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Syed Abu Hussin said nothing has changed in terms of the status of the six MPs.

"As of today, we have yet to receive any show-cause letter, and it remains status quo. There have been no changes (to our status)," the Bukit Gantang MP said.

The other MPs who have declared their support for the unity government are Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang) and Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar).

Bersatu on March 2 passed a motion to amend its constitution aimed at preventing its members from switching sides.

The motion involved Clause 10 of its constitution, which deals with the cessation of membership and the expulsion of its members who switch sides with immediate effect.

Syed Abu Hussin added that the six agreed to not back down from their support for Anwar and the unity government.

"We will continue to provide our undivided support for the Prime Minister.

"Our support for the Prime Minister is only to strengthen the federal administration and allowing him to further develop the country.

"We are confident with the decision that we have made over the matter and that we will not back down from it," he said.
